Keep Moving Forward at Westfield Washington Township: We have a tendency to cling to, not just old ways, but seasons of life. Stepping up in a world of change is what Westfield Washington Township did in 2021. This takes a tremendous amount of courage. To move forward, we must accept a great amount of challenge, and in turn, we accomplish so much. Why do we take on these challenges and move forward? Our residents and our partners are reasons here at WWT.
Townships are a local governing body with an elected Trustee that serves a four-year term. Westfield Washington Township is one of nine townships in Hamilton County and is approximately 56 square miles. Indiana law requires that the Township Trustee provide essential services to the residents living within the Township.

COVID-19 UPDATE
WHAT ARE TOWNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES?
The township is responsible for emergency financial assistance. This can be anything from rental assistance to funeral assistance. Fire protection is another responsibility for the township. The Trustee’s office contracts with the City of Westfield fire department to provide fire protection to residents in the township that live outside of the city borders; Station 82 is owned by the Township and is located at 1920 E 151st Street. Abandoned cemeteries are also under the township umbrella. The office is responsible for maintaining seven abandoned public cemeteries within the borders of the township. Burial/cremation expenses are available for individuals without the resources to cover the cost for a loved one living within the township. Weed control is another township responsbility - residents living outside of city limits may file a weed complaint regarding certain invasive species.
For the safety of all participants, instructors, and staff, we will be following the COVID-19 guidelines determined by the Hamilton County Health Department. We highly recommend masks for all visitors to the Westfield Washington Township office.
