Impala have been manufacturing plastic trays longer than any other tray currently on the market 2. The Impala 1 was launched in 1994 whereas the Discoverer 1 was first made in 2006 and the Core Safe in 2013 3. Original Impala 1 trays are still holding core on a number of sites in WA 4. Impala are constantly improving the range so, as well as the original Impala 1, there are now 2, 3, & 4 models and soon, the soon to be launched Impala 5 5. Impala only use virgin Polypropylene material with UV stabiliser. While Westernex is currently developing environmentally-friendly bags we believe drill core is too valuable to take the risk of using any other material for core trays with the thin walls and channels (Full technical information available on request) 6.
