DALBY Located 80km North-West of Toowoomba, Dalby is a thriving regional centre. Running through the heart of town, the beautiful Myall Creek provides a picturesque setting enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Another popular destination in town is Thomas Jack Park, which offers picnic and playground facilities in tranquil surroundings.

History buffs will appreciate a visit to Pioneer Park Musuem, which boasts one of the largest collections of working tractors and agricultural machinery in Queensland. The museum also houses an impressive rock, mineral and fossil collection.

Once an Aboriginal ceremonial site, Lake Broadwater later refreshed teamsters and early settlers. Today Lake Broadwater Conservation Park protects the lake, which is the only naturally occuring waterbody of its kind on the Darling Downs. The lake, covering approximately 350 hectares can dry out completely, so please check before taking your boat out. Many waterbirds and wildlife ďŹ nd refuge on the lake and in the surrounding vegetation. Visitors can birdwatch from the hide near the bird nesting area at The Neck. The park is also great for bushwalking, with a two kilometre track joining the two camping areas. Picnicking is another popular past time at the park.

Spring is celebrated each year with Discover Dalby Spring Sensations, a month-long festival jam-packed with activities for the whole family. The highlight is the Dalby Delicious & DeLIGHTful Festival held on the banks of the Myall Creek. The festival features food and entertainment from various cultures and a spectacular parade of hand-made lanterns along the creek.
