Win One Month Free Trash Service
The Diversion Challenge and MyWestern Smartphone App
Several lucky residential customers will receive one month of free trash service for finding their names in this newsletter!
Here at Western Disposal, we are grateful for our thousands of customers who choose our service; and, with your input, we continue to research innovative options to help you make the most environmentally friendly decisions about your waste material. We are referring to YOU when we say, “The Way to A Better Environment.” We provide the options; however, it is your effort in choosing to keep recyclables and compostables out of the landfill that truly has the most impact. In that spirit we are inviting all of our customers to take The Diversion Challenge: a personal and community commitment to increased recycling and composting.
If you find your name, call our Customer Service Department at 303-444-2037 to receive credit on your account for one month of free service. Sorry, names mentioned as part of the stories are not eligible.

Based on audits that Western has conducted of trash from single-family and multi-family residents and businesses, we know about HALF of what is thrown away could be recycled or composted. Some communities we serve also have waste diversion policy goals, and our company vision includes being the best provider of options to help achieve those goals. RECYCLING is an important way for everyone, businesses and individuals, to reduce the waste they send to landfills. It keeps valuable resources cycling through the economy. Recycling conserves our natural resources, conserves energy and reduces air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from landfills. Using the three-cart, Pay-As-You-Throw model provided by Western Disposal — in which our residential customers only pay for the size trash cart they need — simplifies diverting waste from the landfill so it can be recycled into new products. (Need an extra recycle cart? Get one for a very small monthly fee, call us!) COMPOSTING: Organics recycling keeps the important nutrients from discarded food, plants and many paper products out of the landfill and converts them into a soil amendment to help plants thrive. Keeping organic products out of the landfill reduces the amount of methane and carbon dioxide that are released when food and plant based materials decay in the landfill. Martha and Tim Lagae. At Western’s compost facility in Boulder, organic materials go through a little physical and chemical magic to be transformed into nutrient rich soil amendment. That is why we are asking you to take the Diversion Challenge. Together we can do better and continue our Way to a Better Environment!
