Antiques Jewellery popular at auction

At Acreman St Antiques Auction Sherborne we had a very successful July auction despite the limited edition Rolex GMT MII Sea King watch being withdrawn by the vendor at the last minute. The highlights were an antique diamond and pearl bow brooch hammer £6,200, an antique sapphire and diamond ring hammer £4,000, 2 gents Rolex Oyster perpetual wristwatches sold for hammer £2,600 and £1,500. An antique silver chest and contents, hammer £4,800. Also selling well was an abstract oil painting by Frank Auerbach hammer £4,000 and an cubist still life oil painting by Georges Braque hammer £3,600. There was also strong bidding in our Oriental section with an antique bronze vessel selling for hammer £1,900.
