The Westchester Del Rey Little League’s (WDRLL) Major Softball All Stars are celebrating a whirlwind summer that included winning the Southern California Little League State Championship and the West Regional tournament, earning them a coveted spot to represent the “West” in the Little League Softball World Series!
The team, which is made up of 11 players, ages 11-13, some of whom have played together for years, headed to Greenville, North Carolina at the beginning of August to battle it out against the best of the best for a chance at the title. While playing with grit, dedication, incredible talent, and teamwork, the team ultimately lost games to the Northwest and MidAtlantic Region, ending their World Series run.
Making it to the most prestigious youth softball game in the world is a historic moment for the league, players, families, and community, says WDRLL President, Jim Evans, who accompanied the team to Greenville to cheer them on.
“We are incredibly proud of the players, coaches, parents, and fans
who represented Westchester Del Rey Little League at the 2025 Little League Softball World Series. Competing on this national stage—for only the second time in our league’s 51-year history—is an extraordinary achievement,” said Jim. “Our team played with heart, resilience and true sportsmanship, and their dedication has inspired our entire community. As president, I’m already looking forward to the day we return.”
While WDRLL families, board members and league supporters were in the South for the games, back in Westchester, the community rallied to support the team with watch parties at Tower Pizza and fundraisers, to support the cost of the once-in-a-lifetime trip.
Congratulations to the Westchester Little League Major All Star team–Adelynn Bolton, Kaylee Braunlich, Claire Dunbar, Coral Ho, Sofia Maximiliano, Mila McKay, Abigail Reyes, Kinsley Spencer, Audrey Thammavongsa, Gaby Uribe, Audrey Vogler, Coach Enrique Uribe, Coach Jose Reyes and Manager Paul Vogler, Jr.–for making it all the way to the World Series and proudly representing the community!

At left: WDRLL families, friends and supporters gather to root for their home team.

From coordinating weddings to orchestrating world premieres for the year’s hottest movies, Michelle Paris’ path is grounded in creativity, vision and hospitality.
By Sylvia Wilson
Nestled in the heart of Orange County, the city of Orange was the backdrop for Michelle Paris’s sundrenched childhood–a suburban swirl of bike rides, beach days, Barbie dramas and boundless imagination. As one of four siblings in a tight-knit household, Michelle’s early years unfolded like a feel-good family film. Her mom curated a life rich in playdates and adventure, with weekly Newport Beach excursions and summer getaways to Tahoe, Mammoth, and Palm Springs.
“I loved everything about growing up in Orange,” Michelle reflects. “It wasn’t just my home; it was my whole world.”
Raised with Daisy and Brownie friends from Girl Scouts, pool parties, roller rink afternoons, and mini golf tournaments, Michelle describes a kaleidoscope of experiences that framed her outlook on friendship, resilience, and creativity. As the middle child, she had a front-row seat to family dynamics: her older sister Christina bore the weight of “first child rules,” her brother Phillip basked in “only boy” status, and her younger sister Nicole enjoyed the perks of being “the baby.”
“I marched to the beat of my own drum,” she says with a smile. “I learned how to carve out my own identity pretty early on.”
When Michelle was 16, her family relocated to Agoura Hills for her father’s job, a move she called “devastating.” Though she now appreciates Agoura’s charm and the thoughtful choice her parents made, the emotional disruption of leaving behind everything familiar cast a shadow on her final high school years.
After graduating, Michelle stayed close to home, enrolling at Moorpark College, where she played volleyball, joined student council, and worked at multiple jobs ranging from Boston Market to her local library.
“Each of those jobs when I was younger was about hospitality. What was the customer’s experience? How was their service? Did their interaction with me make them want to come back?” Michelle says.
“Looking back at these early jobs of mine, one could say I was gearing up for my career. While I plan events, my job is rooted in hospitality. Were the filmmakers and talent happy? Are my executives pleased? Did the press get what they wanted off the carpet? Was the fans’ experience exceptional?”
From Student to Storyteller
Michelle eventually transferred to the University of Southern California, majoring in Communication with an emphasis in Entertainment. It introduced her to the world of film publicity, which was exciting, highenergy, and full of possibility. But something didn’t quite fit.
“I realized I didn’t want to be the person standing in front of the carpet [with the talent],” she says. “I wanted to be behind the scenes, building the environment around them.”
During her college years, Michelle interned at Nickelodeon, gaining early exposure to Hollywood. Her breakthrough came with an internship at Fox Searchlight, where she was introduced to independent films. She worked on projects like “One Hour Photo” starring Robin Williams, which left a lasting impression on her.
Internships played a crucial role in Michelle’s development, emphasizing the importance of networking and maintaining connections. After graduating, she secured a marketing job and stayed in touch with mentors and former bosses, which proved invaluable in her career progression.
Michelle eventually joined Fox in a publicity role. However, a year into her tenure, her boss was let go, and a new leader was brought in. This change marked a turning point for Michelle, as she realized the significance of aligning with leadership that resonates with her values and vision.
Her pivot into special events came via an assistant role supporting the Director of Special Events at 20th Century Fox. She spent nearly six years climbing from assistant to manager, orchestrating premieres and media moments. She worked on premieres for films such as “Man on Fire,” “Borat,” “The Simpsons” and “Fantastic Four.”
At her next stop, the L.A. Times, Michelle oversaw cultural and
culinary sections like “The Taste” and “Jonathan Gold’s 101,” along with assisting across other events like the Festival of Books. She merged her creative vision with business acumen. This chapter taught her how to balance ticket sales, sponsor expectations, and production budgets, all while keeping events bold and memorable.
While at the newspaper, Michelle juggled a five-year freelance career as a wedding coordinator, an experience that honed her skills in logistics, aesthetics, and people management. Working with a respected planner in Los Angeles, Michelle brought elegance and order to countless celebrations.
“My experience working across consumer events at the same time as coordinating weddings taught me so much more about event production and how to sharpen my skills as an event producer,” says Michelle. “I immersed myself in learning all about linens, florals, kitchen builds, specialty furniture, lighting and those special touches that make an event.”
Her freelance work was also, unexpectedly, how she met her future husband.
While coordinating her final wedding
job at the Natural History Museum, delays from a soccer match at the Coliseum left guests stuck in traffic, but one arrived early. Sam, a friend of the groom, had walked the few blocks after taking an Uber. Michelle spotted him and turned to her boss and, without missing a beat, said, “That’s my future husband.”
They spent the evening talking, dancing, and sneaking into the photo booth. The relationship blossomed, and though Sam moved out of L.A. to Montana a few months later, they kept a long-distance relationship going for almost two years. Eventually, they eloped in Big Sky, Montana, and will celebrate eight years of marriage this December.
Michelle’s mentor eventually drew her back to Hollywood.
When her former boss and mentor at Fox, Leonard Iannelli, encouraged her to apply for a Head of Events position at Paramount, Michelle was drawn back to Hollywood. Despite not working for a studio in five years, Michelle’s extensive experience in consumer events and her strong network helped her secure the role.

Inaugural Second Saturday Stroll celebrates all things local.
The Westchester Triangle was transformed into a walkable neighborhood hangout on Saturday, August 9 for the inaugural Second Saturday Stroll presented by the Westchester Streetscape Improvement Association and the Westchester Town Center BID! During the event, which ran from 4 to 8 p.m., 87th Street was filled with community members participating in art activities, visiting local businesses, shopping and dining. While music by Sanford Street filled the block, guests of all ages enjoyed painting a community mural led by Westchester artist, David Russell and Mobile Mural Lab; watching skate demonstrations by Brooklyn Projects; a standing-room-only poetry reading at The Book Jewel; face painting and a sundae bar provided by the Playa Venice Sunrise Rotary Club. Triangle restaurants also got in on the fun with Tomat doing a special rooftop menu and a DJ; Ayara cooking live on the street; and Olive It offering charcuterie boards to accompany beverages at Triangle Wines. To encourage biking or walking to the event, Trans Port Station offered complimentary bike parking.
The event was presented by the Drollinger Family Charitable Foundation with support from sponsors like the Playa Venice Sunrise Rotary Club, the Hometown News, Jane St. John/Estate Properties, Amy
Nelson Frelinger Real Estate, LMU, the LAX Coastal Chamber, and Berman Kandel.

Westchester photographer readies to capture photos for international medical trip.
Westchester resident and local photographer Zsuzsi Steiner is heading to Nepal in October as part of the
Aloha Medical Mission team. During her three weeks in Nepal, Zsuzsi will serve as a volunteer to capture the medical team’s 100-person strong mission of providing life-changing care to those who have no means or access to major or minor surgical procedures, as well as dental and vision care.
“My role will be photographing and capturing the amazing things the doctors and nurses will be bringing to the people in and around Dahkuta, Nepal. The idea is to ‘reach the unreached,’” said Zsuzsi. “This mission also needs funding, which all goes to the care of the patients.”
During the nonprofit’s previous trip in 2023, they performed 154 major procedures, 487 minor cases and 537 dental procedures. Their goal is to raise $75,000 to support their work.

However, her career took another unexpected turn when she received a LinkedIn message about a head of events position at Universal.
Michelle reflects on the recurring theme of being drawn back to the entertainment industry.
“Every time I’ve tried to leave, I’m pulled back. It’s a beautiful thing because it feels like this is what I’m meant to do,” she says.
Now she serves as Universal’s Senior Vice President of Global Special Projects and Events.
Michelle explains the intricate process behind film promotion, starting with the artistic assets. Typically, the process begins three to six months in advance, with her team receiving title treatments, artwork, and other materials from the creative department. Having seen the film months earlier, Michelle and her team brainstorm ways to bring the movie to life through innovative and engaging promotional strategies.
For “The Bad Guys 2,” which just premiered in July, Michelle highlighted the importance of outdoor advertising,
such as bus shelters, movie theater posters, and TV trailers. She also emphasized the evolution of red carpet events, moving beyond traditional stepand-repeat backdrops to incorporate 3D elements inspired by the film’s scenes.
“We try to bring creativity to every aspect of the event,” Michelle shared. “If there’s a scene in the film that stands out, we think about how to translate it into a tangible experience for attendees.”
The process involves collaboration
with vendors, multiple rounds of approvals, and meticulous attention to detail. Michelle’s team works tirelessly to ensure every element aligns with the film’s vision and resonates with the audience.
“It’s a long and enduring process,” Michelle admits. “But it’s incredibly rewarding to see it all come together.”
This summer, Michelle and her team at Universal have been orchestrating major premieres coast to coast. In New York, they rolled out immersive
events for “Jurassic World: Rebirth” and “M3GAN 2.0,” while Los Angeles will host another high-energy launch soon with “Nobody 2.” The momentum continues into the fall with a diverse lineup, including “Him”, the whimsical world of “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie,” the chilling return of “Black Phone 2,” and the highly anticipated premiere of “Wicked: For Good.” Each project offers a new challenge and a fresh opportunity to dream bigger.
“I stay inspired by pushing the boundaries of what’s possible,” Michelle says. “From street closures to red carpet designs, we strive to make every moment unforgettable.”
Whether premiering films like “Fast X” in Rome or “Wicked” in Los Angeles, she builds experiences that resonate. Just as motherhood requires a village, so does Michelle’s work. Her team orchestrates every detail, from carpet designs, press zones, fan access, and seating charts, to the look-and-feel concepts, and beyond. It’s not just about logistics; it’s about storytelling through atmosphere.
“Every film is so unique and that’s one thing I love about events. We take a film and dissect it into pieces. What scene can we fabricate to life? What film art can we magnify on the carpet? What story can we tell as talent make their way down the carpet?
(continued on next page)
(continued from previous page)
Premieres are our chance to share a film’s heart with the public,” Michelle says. “We have to make them stand out, especially in this age of instant gratification. What is going to stick? The landscape has changed so much since I first started that we have to truly stand out to ensure coverage and press pick-up. Sometimes filmmakers influence the venue choice, some love IMAX, others favor specific theaters. If they’re open to it, she works with them to gather internal suggestions and present the best fit for the event.
Collaboration is key. Her event’s team works hand in hand with media, brand, and experiential teams to align budgets and create unforgettable experiences.
Building a Life in Westchester
In 2019, Michelle and Sam welcomed their daughter, Amelia. Four months later, they bought their home in the Kentwood area. Their son James arrived in 2021. She describes the kids as artistic, curious, athletic, and bonded to each other. Michelle and Sam cherish watching their personalities bloom, and building a life rooted in community and joy.
“Westchester feels like its own little village,” Michelle says. “There’s comfort, friendship, and a shared heartbeat. My older sister lived here for 10 plus years before we moved here, and my parents are just down the street in Playa del Rey. We knew as we started a family, we wanted to be surrounded by our village.”
Michelle says she is constantly career. They’re simply living their lives, and that’s what I love about Westchester: it’s genuine, welcoming, and refreshingly humble. “
Michelle’s approach to life is steeped in gratitude. Inspired by her mom’s example, she’s led donation drives, mentored youth, organized school supply events, and even arranged movie screenings for hospitalized kids.
“My mom had us volunteering since I was little, and it’s something that has stuck with me to this day,” says Michelle. “Mom often said, ‘Give back when you can, what you can, however you can.’”
Her family lays wreaths at the L.A. National Cemetery each Christmas and volunteers together when possible. She says she wants to show her kids through volunteering, “how simple things have a big impact.”
Through her board position at Young Storytellers, a nonprofit sponsored by NBC, Michelle helps children discover the power of storytelling, an echo of her own journey.
Michelle Paris’s story is a reminder that life’s most meaningful chapters are often written with heart, not spotlight. Each turn in Michelle’s career taught her not just new skills, but a deeper understanding of how stories are told, through press, through presence, and through meticulously crafted experiences. She continues to shape spaces where these stories are told, whether in Hollywood or at home. Her journey is a testament to creativity, courage, and the quiet power of showing up for others.
“I still see myself as that kid riding a bike around Orange,” she says.
Only now, she’s helping pave the roads others will ride.

In a quiet corner of Westchester, just down the road from Loyola Marymount University, the dawn of a supercharged creative force is happening. It’s not just music. It’s not just art. It’s not just community. It’s all of the above, and it lives in a house called Turbo.
Turbo is where the moody, femmefocused alt-rock band Dawn of Jayne–composed of vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Tamara Bruketta, guitarist/ bassist Freddie Wong, and drummer Josh Wolf–has created more than just a sound. They’ve established a creative community.
“We call it Turbo,” says Tamara, referring to the Westchester home she and her life partner Justin Yngelmo bought in 2014 with help from her family. As former LMU students, they fell in love with the area and needed a home base that would inspire them and others.
“It started as a space for film, then evolved into a place for jam sessions, live shows, and now, a full recording studio,” she says.
The Dawn of Dawn of Jayne
The roots of Dawn of Jayne are as organic as their sound. Tamara and Josh first met as kids in the Bay Area, reconnecting years later in L.A. Freddie entered the mix through shared film projects, and before long, the three were jamming in Turbo’s converted garage. At first there was no formal band, just a rotating group of artists creating music together in their makeshift studio.
Drummer Josh moved to L.A. in 2018. He had been in a band in the Bay Area, but was making constant trips down to L.A., sometimes as often as once a month.
“Eventually, I realized I should just be living in L.A.,” he says.
It was then that Tamara reached out to Josh and asked if he wanted to play drums on some tracks for her new album, “Stagnation” and something clicked.
“Everything sounded really good, and then I heard they went on tour, and I was a little jealous. My old band had played tons of shows and recorded a bunch, but we never officially toured. Going on tour had always been a bucket list thing for me. But beyond that, I could tell there was something fresh and exciting about this band. It was just a tight power trio, which felt strong and streamlined compared to my last group. We went on tour in 2019, and it was amazing to watch how the sound evolved. It felt like the band was following the direction of our individual growth as musicians. It’s been like an ongoing evolutionary process with
Dawn of Jayne,” Josh says.
After the tour, the release of an EP, and a little fear-bonding during the pandemic, the trio solidified into a cohesive unit.
“Surviving COVID together really sealed the deal,” says Tamara.
The band’s name, Dawn of Jayne, is personal to Tamara.
“Jayne is my middle name. My parents always said I’d use it as my pen name when I became a writer. And when I started making music, I realized how few women and femmes are the driving creative voices in music. I wanted this project to represent the beginning, or the ‘dawn’ of that recognition.”
A Genre-Fluid Sound
Though their early work leaned into an angsty, singer-songwriter folksy sound, Dawn of Jayne’s music has since
collaborative artistic space.
“It’s kind of like a moody Westside art scene,” Tamara laughs. “We’ve hosted everything from jam sessions and shows to femme-centered freestyle nights.”
Inside Turbo, there’s a sound studio, a jam space, and a rotating cast of artists – musicians, filmmakers, comic book illustrators, poets, and more.
“It’s not just music,” says Justin, who directs the band’s music videos. “It’s storytelling. It’s community.”
The house even has a reputation.
“We found out that Google maps lists Turbo as ‘open 24/7.’ We’re not, but it kind of fits the vibe,” she says.
And of course, no rehearsal at Turbo is complete without the band’s secret ingredient: a fresh box of Randy’s Donuts.
“We have a pretty staple order,” says Tamara. “At least six plain cake donuts, those are the anchor of the whole thing.”
The bandmates joke that Randy’s is the fuel that keeps them together, powering late-night jam sessions and early-morning mixes.
“It’s kind of a tradition now,” says Freddie. “You can’t rely on much in life, but you can rely on a plain cake donut from Randy’s.”
The Westchester Effect
Being in Westchester has deeply shaped Dawn of Jayne’s journey.
Tamara got her start performing solo at Tanner’s Coffee, whose owners welcomed her with open arms. From there, the band’s roots only deepened.
blossomed into something far more eclectic. Their latest album, “Liminal Sister,” recorded and mixed at Turbo and released in May, touches everything from bluesy alt-rock to what the band cheekily calls “flamboyant grunge.”
“I think we do a really good job of letting the sound emerge naturally,” says Freddie. “If something feels like Americana, we let it be Americana, even if we weren’t aiming for it.”
One track, “Breakfast Served All Day,” embraces its twangy roots, despite Tamara’s initial resistance to pigeonholing their sound. “At first, I was like, ‘No, we’re not doing Americana!’ But eventually, I just had to surrender to what the music wanted to be.”
Turbocharged Creativity
More than just a band, Dawn of Jayne supplies an electric jolt to the
“We’ve played backyard shows and connected with other creative spaces,” Tamara says, in addition to playing shows at nearby Neighbor’s House and Cinema Bar. “The community has supported us from the beginning, and now we’re able to give back through shows, collaborations, and just by making space for other artists to jam and grow.”
Westchester, seen mostly as a familyfriendly suburb, is becoming more vibrant due to this homegrown scene.
“We believed the Westside could be an art hub,” says Justin. “And now, we’re seeing it happen.”
What’s Next?
While the band is taking a short breather post-album release, their studio has become a shipping center for vinyl orders–a dream years in the making. They plan to resume local shows later this summer.
In the meantime, you might catch them at a community jam session, powered by creativity and a steady supply of Randy’s plain cake donuts.

Opinion: Workout routine
sustainability is an underrated topic, and one that is worth exploring. I have worked with many people who have been able to sustain a productive workout routine, not just for weeks or months, but for years. I will share some secrets of their success this month. Many have experienced the initial motivation to act on their health and fitness. However, most are unable to maintain that commitment over time. Many people think finding the perfect workout routine will create desired change, but the ability to sustain that change is usually the true challenge. Here are five ways to improve your chances of maintaining your workout program long-term.
1. The demands of the program need to fit into your lifestyle. Is your lifestyle packed with work and family commitments that make a huge exercise commitment difficult at this time? Be honest with yourself about that. Sometimes starting with a smaller commitment is more conducive to sustainability. Create consistency before scaling your time commitment. If the only time you have available is Saturday and Sunday mornings, start with those. Over committing to a workout schedule is the most common
sustainability killer I have witnessed during my two decades in fitness.
2. Make sure your exercise program is adaptable for past injuries and joint limitations. If you have orthopedic challenges, make sure your workout approach is flexible enough to accommodate those challenges. Most people have some type of physical challenge that can be improved with exercise if the program is designed with the challenge in mind. Knee pain would be an example. By strengthening the muscles around the knee, knee pain can be lessened, and mobility can be improved. If done incorrectly, certain exercises can make the knee pain worse and even cause an injury. If a workout program offers no adaptability and promotes a “just push through pain” approach, my advice is to run far away. One-size-fits-all simply does not work once you pass the age of 25.
3. Abandon the “no pain, no gain” mindset. This old-school mindset might work if you are a Navy Seal, but it is not good for most busy adults. Instead, focus on how to perform exercises properly. Then concentrate on gradually increasing your exertion level. If you are going to increase your commitment, I always encourage a gut check approach. Does it feel like the right thing for you at that time? If you know you are not ready to take a
huge leap, maybe wait until the timing is better. Everyone should start with something, but it is usually better to ease into bigger commitments than bite off more than you can chew.
4. Set goals but make them small at first. When someone starts new at our studio, I always try to remind them what an achievement it is to make it to a gym appointment, given the many obstacles to doing so. Simply showing up and exercising for a few hours per week is a great achievement for most beginners. Remind yourself that working out improves your physical and mental health, bone density, strength and quality of life. You are also modeling behavior for others in your circle. Children obviously model parental behavior, but you might also be quietly encouraging a friend, coworker, parent or neighbor as how to make consistent exercise work in a busy lifestyle.
5. Treat exercise as an appointment. While I believe in starting with small commitments and reasonable goals, I do not believe in starting “tomorrow,” as “tomorrow” never comes. The single best way to increase exercise sustainability is to treat exercise like an appointment. Commit to someone else that you will meet them for exercise. That someone may be a personal trainer, group exercise teacher or
workout or walking buddy. Scheduling exercise as an appointment often leads to more consistent workouts.
Few things can elevate quality of life like a consistent exercise program. Whether you want to tour Europe or simply stay active right here in Westchester, improving your strength and fitness can open doors to more enjoyment and happiness. Take the steps suggested above to sustain your commitment into 2026 and beyond. Jeff Blair (MS, CSCS) is the founder of the SoCalSport Personal Training Studio in Westchester. Dear Westchester,
Growing up in the small town of Newburgh, Indiana, life had a certain rhythm to it. Everyone knew each other—not just in passing, but by name, by family, by history. It was impossible to go anywhere without seeing a familiar face. Driving down Epworth and Green River Road, you’d give the casual one-handed wave to passing cars because, odds were, you knew the driver. At the grocery store, you’d run into your teacher, your neighbor, or your childhood friend’s mom. It wasn’t something I thought about much as a kid; it was just the way life was.
As I grew older, I took that smalltown intimacy for granted and wanted out. I was eager to experience something bigger, to step outside of the comfort of knowing everyone and be somewhere new where I could be anonymous. That’s how I found myself in Los Angeles. Here, you can go for days without running into someone you know, and most people don’t exchange waves as they drive past each other. It’s a different kind of life, but surprisingly, it hasn’t meant the loss of community.
Despite its size, Los Angeles still has its own small-town pockets. We may not know every single person, but we see familiar faces at neighborhood spots. Whether it’s at a school event, a local coffee shop, or Vons down the street, we recognize each other. We may not always know each other’s names, but we exchange nods, smiles, and that unspoken acknowledgment of being part of the same place.
Now that I have kids of my own, I see things differently. I see the beauty in those little connections. My kids play sports with the same group of children, and we gather in the stands, cheering together. At the grocery store, they spot
a classmate or a teammate, and suddenly, a routine errand turns into an impromptu social event. It reminds me of my own childhood, and I realize how much I miss and appreciate those small-town moments.
There’s something powerful about recognizing the people around you, about being known and knowing others. A simple wave while driving, yelling out the window to a classmate or their parents—these things matter. They make a place feel like home. They turn a big, bustling city into a community.
Life has a way of giving us second chances. I may not be raising my kids in a small Indiana town, but I’m raising them in a place where connections still matter. Where a smile or a wave can brighten a day. And that’s something truly beautiful. I love you, Westchester, CA!

The LAX Coastal Chamber helped Westchester kick off summer with the 25th Annual Fourth of July Parade presented by Decron Properties!
Thousands of community members, and attendees from across the city and the world, lined Loyola Blvd. to partake in the neighborhood tradition, which featured 45 entries.
With the theme, “We Love L.A.,” parade participants brought their “A-game,” creating floats and entries highlighting the best of what the City of Angels has to offer–from its cultural institutions and beaches to its iconic venues and famous Angelenos.
Thanks to the support of Decron Properties, the event also featured numerous cultural entries like the Immortal Lion Dancers, the Mahana Dance Group and Koshin Taiko Drummers.
Parade stand-outs included the Westchester Family YMCA’s float, which featured an 18-foot-tall firefighter crafted with wood, chicken wire and foam. Created by renowned special effects artist Dann Garr and volunteers from the Y, the float paid tribute to heroes who battled the devastating Palisades and Eaton Fires at the beginning of the year. The
float took home the award for “Best Overall.”
St. Anastasia’s entry featured their mascot strutting down the red carpet beneath the Hollywood sign, with families decorating golf carts to highlight local landmarks, earning them the “Spirit of the Parade” honor. Taking home the “Chair’s Award,” was Visitation’s “Viz Tours” featuring a double decker bus with families ready to tour the city. The “Mayor’s Award,” was presented to WISH for the school’s collaborative float featuring K-12 artists’ takes on beloved Natural History Museum displays.
Major sponsors of the 25th annual parade are Decron Properties, Stephanie Younger Group, LAWA, Brand Enhance and the Drollinger Family Charitable Foundation.
A special shout-out to the Parade Committee, residents of Loyola Blvd., entries, volunteers, and all the attendees who came out to celebrate the event’s milestone anniversary! Scan the QR code to view all the 2025 parade photos courtesy of event photographer, Zsuzsi Steiner.
