Residents of Westchester are encouraged to help out their neighbors and the Village, by remembering to do their part after a snowfall or ice accumulation.The Westchester Police & Public Works Departments remind residents of the Snow Route Parking Restrictions. Winter Safety Tips:
- Stay back from the plow vehicle 100 feet to avoid problems.
- Do not pull directly behind the Plow trucks. They often have to back up. There are blind spots in the mirrors and they might not be able to see you.
- Do not put snow in the street when cleaning driveways or parking lots. This can cause problems for other motorists.
- Never attempt to pass a Plow truck on the right side. There can be much more snow on that side of the vehicle. Plow trucks generally push snow to the passenger side of the truck (right side when looking at it from the rear). Drive safe!
