News – Ground breaks soon on what is among the last areas to build in the village of Carp. Starting this week the frame will go on the foundation for the first of the 90 units at Green Meadows – with its only entrance and exit on Donald B. Munro Drive, between Carp and March roads. The neighbourhood will likely be completed within five years. Realtor Connie Rivington-Howie is pleased to see her grandfather Ruggles’ pasture that stretches down a slope toward the railroad tracks converted to residential lots.

Summer fun in Constance Bay Cory Jardine of Constance Bay and his daughter Abby, 2, enjoy the sunny weather and beautiful beach on July 20. The beach was a busy spot Saturday afternoon as the Constance and Buckham’s Bay Community Association wrapped up its poker run on the water. The Sandhills Project fundraiser included stops at Mohr’s Island, Quyon Town Dock, checkpoints near the Port of Call and Pinhey’s Point, and finished up at the Point Beach.

Guess who is coming to the 150th edition of Carp Fair? Patricia Leboeuf pleboeuf@metroland.com

News - The 150th Carp Fair is fast approaching and such a big event deserves an equally big band, namely the Guess Who. Wrapping up Sunday’s lineup, the band, sans superstars Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings, will be
entertaining the crowd with a two-hour show. Gate admission is the only cost to attend, but space is limited. “If they want to see them I would say you need to be here early in the day,” said Carp Fair general manager Joyce Trafford. “Enjoy the day at the fair and make your way early to the arena to see them.”

People will, however, be able to stand outside and listen in, she added. The Guess Who have been a big name in rock since they first began singing in the 1960s, gaining recognition worldwide with such hits as American Woman. The band broke up in 1975, but reunited in some shape or form several times over the years.
