Whether you’re looking for some family rink action, a chance to show off your snowshoeing skills, or fixing for some more adult activities like a euchre tournament, pub night, or snowmobile run, there are activities for all ages. “We’ve got lots of children’s events, adults events – there’s something for everybody,” said Tracey Crane, president of the Kinburn Community Association. For the second year in a row, the Kinburn Community Association has partnered with the West Carleton Snowmobile Trails Association’s poker run in support of the Snowsuit Fund. Taking place on the last day of the carnival, registration begins at 10 a.m. with departure at 11 a.m.

News - Shovels in the ground for a West Carleton War Memorial could come as early as this spring – if the group behind the monument can raise another $8,000 by the end of March. The effort, being spearheaded by the Carp BIA, needs to raise the money in order take advantage of a $50,000 matching-fund by Veterans Affairs through its cenotaph and monument program. “We’re scrambling now,” said Peter Maddocks at the Kanata Legion’s meeting on Jan. 21. “We need to raise the last bit to take advantage of the Veterans Affairs funds.” So far, the committee has raised $84,700 of the $185,000 total. The
