Choosing a women’s college like Wesleyan gives students a unique and empowering educational experience. By prioritizing your voice and nurturing your talents, we help women become leaders, offer chances for growth and career development and support gender equality.
Going to a women’s college gives students an advantage. Graduates from women’s colleges are twice as likely to feel ready for life after graduation. They are also more likely to be happy with their education and see it as a good investment.
“The people at Wesleyan are really accepting of who you are and that is something that has changed my viewpoint…. I am happy at Wesleyan. It’s like home.”

Part of the Wesleyan experience is the opportunity to do research as an undergraduate in the labs of Wesleyan faculty. Biology and neuroscience double major Andrea Felix ‘21 knew that she needed to develop research skills as an undergraduate in order to land the job she wanted. Wesleyan gave her the tools to get hired as a laboratory technician.
“I wanted to start conducting research on my first day. Dr. Holly Cole (associate professor of psychology) welcomed me into her lab with open arms and I worked with her all four years.”
“ Working with a professor in her lab allowed each student to grow into better teammates and improve skills like communication, finding previous research and ideation. I used these skills in other classes, too. I learned to take the lead and instruct others on making valuable contributions to a team.”
A cutting-edge facility with modern teaching labs, research labs, a greenhouse, animal colony, cell culture lab, neurophysiology lab and a microscopy room.
We focus on building relationships, using different learning styles, and bringing creativity and nature into learning. Elementary education majors can publish a children’s book, do scavenger hunts for math, host a storytelling festival, visit outdoor playgrounds and hike in Wesleyan’s on-site arboretum.
Wesleyan’s nursing simulation lab has six human patient simulators, a control room with audio and video recording, a pediatric ICU, a medication dispensing system and other unique features.
This large space, similar to those at bigger institutions, has equipment for 2D, 3D and multimedia art. It is surrounded by a 100-acre arboretum that serves as an outdoor classroom.
Located inside the Willet Library, Wesleyan College’s Entrepreneurship Lab (E-Lab) serves as a resource for students to bring their business dreams to life. Complete with an industry grade plotter, t-shirt maker, 3D printer and a multitude of additional resources, the E-Lab supports the vision of any creative student.

The Wesleyan College Creating Equal Opportunities (CEO) Leadership Institute provides a transformational experience to a cohort of young women looking to develop their skills as leaders. This group gains an advantage by enhancing their education through exclusive learning opportunities and Wesleyan’s unique mentorship program.
My experience in the CEO institute has undeniably contributed to my personal and professional growth in several ways.
I’ve learned to embrace challenges and setbacks as opportunities for learning and improvement rather than as failures. This shift in perspective has made me more resilient and open to taking calculated risks in my leadership journey. The emphasis on global citizenship has expanded my horizons and instilled a broader perspective on the world. This newfound global perspective has translated into a more inclusive and empathetic approach to leadership, which I believe is crucial in today’s world.
The networking opportunities provided by the CEO institute have allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals and mentors who have offered valuable insights and support.
I aspire to apply my newfound global perspective and innovative mindset to tackle real-world challenges. Ultimately, I hope to lead with purpose, making a positive impact.”
– ALIZA RATNANI CLASS OF 2027 | PRE-NURSING
Through the program, I was able to connect with my peers at Wesleyan College, the faculty, and the wider community around me.
The skills I gained have been instrumental in my personal and academic growth during my sophomore year.
The program’s faculty and peer mentors have been a tremendous asset to me. They challenged me to confront my personal biases and encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone to grow as a leader.
The CEO Institute has opened many doors for me. I was fortunate enough to be selected to participate in the Unum Accelerated Academy, an opportunity that I would not have had without the program. I am incredibly grateful for the experiences and opportunities that the program has provided me, and I am eager to see what lies ahead in the future.”

The Center for Career Development provides a 4-year career plan which helps students improve their resumes, practice interview skills and find internships locally, in Atlanta, and across the country.
I spent the summer working at a local animal hospital,” Woods said. “I was a veterinary technician, doing all kinds of things. I ran appointments for both of my doctors, serving as the point technician for one of my doctors. I helped with surgery prep, monitored anesthesia, recovery and truly strengthened my skills I learned inside the classroom.”

Wesleyan is a residential campus where most traditional undergraduate students live on-site. Living on campus is a key part of the Wesleyan experience.
Wesleyan values the experience of living on campus, so all traditional students are required to live here while enrolled. Students can choose from various housing options in four residence halls and two apartment buildings. Most rooms are shared by two students, but some private rooms are available for an extra cost.
Student life means taking advantage of all that Wesleyan offers – the clubs and organizations, the easy camaraderie, the diversity and the neverending pursuit of ideas and ideals. Wesleyan offers dozens of clubs and associations that meet your interests. If a club doesn’t exist, we also encourage students to start their own.

Named one of the top 10 American cities to visit by CNN in 2024, Macon is famous for its annual Cherry Blossom Festival and the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park, which draw thousands of visitors from around the world. After graduating from Wesleyan with a degree in international relations, Diep moved to Geneva, Switzerland, to pursue a master’s degree in international development at The Graduate Institute of International and Developmental Studies. In her second year of graduate school, she moved to Paris, France, to do research with a professor from Sciences Po Paris, an international research university that ranks among the world’s finest institutions in it’s field.
In 2017, Diep moved back to her hometown, Hanoi, Viet Nam, to begin her career as an External Relations Advocacy Analyst at UN Women Viet Nam. The organization leads the UN’s advocacy to further promote gender equality by enhancing women’s economic empowerment; ending violence against women and girls; improving women’s access to justice; and making gender equality a key part of the national legal framework, policies, and plans.
Earning her degree in biology with a minor in studio art, Monica credits Wesleyan’s liberal arts curriculum with allowing her to combine this unique set of interests. “I found that working with clay and 3D sculpting tools made me better at using a scalpel during dissections in the biology lab. These transferable skills have influenced the way I hold my hand and the way I apply pressure.”
Monica served on SGA all four years and as president her senior year, brought attention to the national “All In” campaign to ensure women’s voices are represented in politics and organized “I Stand With Immigrants” to support the plight of students who are undocumented immigrants (DREAMERS).
An internship during her junior year ignited her desire to practice in rural and under- served communities in the areas of obstetrics and gynecology. Monica has since been accepted into the Mercer School of Medicine where she is studying and working to become a physician.
A former attaché for the foreign ministry, Charline worked for the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations (UN) in Geneva, Switzerland. Today she works as the Head of the President Office at Akkodis, a global digital engineering company and Smart Industry leader.
Charline represents Austria at several UN organizations and UN specialized agencies, but she finds the digital work she does the most interesting. Geneva is home to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) which sets technical standards that ensure the Internet works worldwide (for example, IP addresses are based on standards set by ITU).
Before earning her master’s degree in European public affairs from Maastricht University, Netherlands, Charline was a four-year member of the equestrian team at Wesleyan and graduated magna cum laude with a double major in economics and political science. She credits the Center for Career Development for helping her start her career. “My online portfolio was actually the reason I was chosen for the internship with the European Union, the internship that led me to find the job I have now.”
