Patrick had moved from Glasgow to London and we’d been in bands before together. We met James and started a band together. James: we spent a long time rehearsing in a studio we had – a free studio. So we were living the dream for a while, not paying. Patrick: it was very much like something we could never afford, it was very luxurious. There would always be lots of art openings around so we could have free beer in the street. It was kind of too good to be true.
