East Hills Electorate Update

Over the past four years, we have seen exciting projects undertaken, enhancing our community and amenities. I am proud to have delivered many new features to our area following consultation with constituents and community groups. This includes an upgrade to Revesby Police Station, the expansion of the Revesby Commuter Car Park, the biggest investment in our local schools that the electorate has ever had and upgrades to our train stations.
Revesby Police Station
I was so proud to announce that I have secured $7 million for the upgrade of Revesby Police Station. Since I was elected in 2019, I have been advocating to have both the interior and exterior of the police station upgraded.

The interior was upgraded earlier last year which has vastly improved working conditions for our hardworking police officers. I advocated to have the exterior look as good as the interior which has resulted in this important announcement.
Bankstown Polair
The NSW Government has invested $49.8 million into three new, high-tech helicopters for Polair and there has been a $30 million joint investment into the new Polair Hangar at Bankstown Airport. These new additions will support police officers with patrols, search and rescue, surveillance and specialist operations across NSW.

Education
I am extremely passionate about education. I have secured significant investments for our local primary schools, high schools, P&C associations, tertiary facilities and early childhood centres. I know that these upgrades will have an incredibl positive impact on the students and educators at these facilities.

The NSW Liberal Government has invested in a brand-new built for purpose school hall at Milperra Public School. The new build contains a large communal hall, stage and storage space and will provide a fantastic new learning area for the children and the entire school community.

Picnic Point High School received a new Technology and Applied Studies (TAS) building which includes music rooms, woodwork workshops and other facilities for the TAS department. Sir Joseph Banks High School and Condell Park High School are two of 23 new and upgraded schools announced in the NSW 2022/23 Budget. They will benefit from significant upgrades, including fit-for-purpose learning spaces and core facilities. A $1.9 million building upgrade at East Hills Girls Technology High School has now been completed.
Local Panania resident Macy received a $25,000 Early Childhood Education scholarship to contribute to her university degree. It’s great to see young people like Macy being supported by the NSW Government to achieve their goals.

In addition to this, I have also secured a $400,000 upgrade to Padstow TAFE. This includes new classroom computers and teaching equipment such as a pneumatics training board to support the delivery of aviation courses. This takes the total amount of investment by the NSW Liberal Government since 2019 to more than $1 million for Padstow TAFE.

Padstow TAFE boasts one of Sydney’s best horticulture training facilities, drawing students from across the region to learn in an industry standard environment, producing the next generation of horticulturalists, landscapers and gardeners. I spoke with Revesby resident Ben who undertook a horticulture course at Padstow. Ben was able to achieve the skills required for his dream job by attending this great facility right here in the East Hills electorate.

Local Sport Facilities
Many of our local sporting facilities have been in need of an upgrade, so I am happy to have secured various sport facility upgrades for our area. I understand the importance of keeping active no matter what age!

Bankstown District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA) has received $868,115 for the brand new Padstow Park field amenities and clubhouse. It has been fantastic to see the progress on this field since construction began. They have also received $10,366 to upgrade goal posts and received $5,990 to purchase a fully monitored public accessible defibrillator.
I know the importance of having quality local facilities for our sporting teams. Kelso Park North received a $1.5 million upgrade to amenities and fields thanks to the NSW Liberal Government.

The brand new $750,000 clubhouse at Marco Reserve is looking outstanding and I am so happy to have secured this new building for our community.

St Christopher’s Junior Rugby League Football Club received $47,000 to purchase four grandstands to accommodate seating for 200 people at Bill Delauney Reserve, Revesby.

East Hills Little League of Baseball received $28,000 to upgrade their nets, construct two dugouts and purchase a storage bin for their baseball equipment at the diamonds at Kelso Park.
Milperra Colts Junior Rugby League Football Club received $25,000 for the refurbishment of the game officials room. The plumbing in the clubhouse is over 40 years old, so I know that this upgrade is much needed!
Through the NSW Government’s ATP Legacy Fund, Canterbury-Bankstown Tennis Association received $40,000 for new courts and accessibility upgrades. They received $19,800 to replace two gazebos and $1,160 for their Youth Development Program. The Community Building Partnership Program has provided $25,000 for LED lighting on the courts.
