June 2017

Neighbourhood Policing Team

Here is the latest neighbourhood update from your Wendover and Aston Clinton Neighbourhood Team. Neighbourhood Update Following a re-structure locally, the team have lost PC Jo Smith who has moved into a role within the Safer School's team. The team will now consist of PC Thom Piercy as the Neighbourhood Supervisor, responsible for PCSO Ken Stephenson and PCSO Meg Harriett. Inspector James Davies returns to the team in place of Inspector Chris Young, with Sgt Nick Perks being replaced by Sgt Emily Dover PC Piercy from the team helped launch the Wendover Dementia Alliance last month, assisting Lindengate, Trading Standards, Weston Grove and local churches at Wendover Library. This was a well attended event, spreading the awareness for those living with dementia and helping us make the area a dementia friendly area. Stay tuned for more events throughout the year. We are still experiencing some issues surrounding the Ponyfield camp in Weston Turville with a high number of ASB and criminal damage reports being received from local residents and those who commute through the area. The recent spike in incidents from last month have again decreased. We urge you to report these incidents as soon as you can, if it is an emergency, do not hesitate to use 999, but if it is a report of an incident that took place a number of hours ago, please call us on 101. We are in consultation with the ASB officer for the area, PC Andy Smith, who is collating the information we have received and will help us deal with the issues that we have already experienced, as well as helping us planning going forward with how to engage with the community on the site where the issues are coming from. You can also follow the team on twitter @TVP_Aylesbury or by using the hashtag #TVPRural to search and see what the rural team are up to. “You said, we did” You said “There is an increase in youth anti-social behaviour (ASB) within Weston Turville” We have increased our patrols in the area and are actively seeking those responsible. Where offences have been reported in the last month associated with ASB we are fully investigating these and if offenders are established they will be dealt with robustly. Where youths involved in ASB have been established parents have been spoken to and yellow cards have been issued where appropriate. You said “Improve Police visibility” We have spent a lot of time in the last few weeks patrolling Weston Turville around the times when the incidents were reported. We have been on foot and in our marked vehicle and speaking to local residents. We have communicated with many residents via email and social media to best understand your needs and concerns.
