We’ve been invited to participate in the Licking County Pollinator Pathway. Susan King, the Pollinator Pathway Community Organizer, shared information about the importance of pollinators and how our school can help increase the population of butterflies, bees, and other pollinators by creating a pollinator garden.

more fun at outdoor education

Outdoor education in a colorful autumn setting provided WHS students with unique opportunities to explore the natural world, learn about ecosystems, practice wilderness survival skills, and even have close encounters with some reptiles and amphibians! There were thrills on the zipline, a trip back in time to an early Ohio settlement, and some silly stories and songs around the campfire! The night sky provided a view of constellations and a rare chance to see the Northern Lights. Best of all, bonds of friendship and community were strengthened through teamwork and shared experiences.

My favorite part was like all of the teachers were so nice and amazing!

Being in the creek — creeking.

my favorite thing about camp...

My favorite part was the zipline. It was a lot of fun! Last year, I did not do it, so it was a little scary, but I jumped off because I wanted to go.

It was definitely ziplining! It was my first year doing it, and I thought it was pretty cool. At first, I did not really want to do it, but the friction from the zipline just slid me right off it. After I got it, it was cool. I did it two times!

My favorite part was the ziplining for sure and spending time with my friends, and getting to know the teachers and doing funny things — we all laughed all the time.

I did not expect that they would have this wooden staff that they put in the fire and all by itself it lit on fire.

My favorite part was the rock wall because it was really challenging. You have to find places to grab. I liked going down because you just hang onto the rope and like almost let go. It’s so fun!

I learned a lot there and it was one of the best vacations I have ever had. I liked building shelters and I learned how to fire a bow.

We did a cup-stacking competition that was fun. The camp was super fun and everyone there was really nice.
