We welcome comedy legends including Harry Hill, Adam Buxton, Reginald D Hunter and Bridget Christie alongside returning favourites including Nish Kumar, Lou Sanders, Paul Foot and Robin Ince, AND rising stars like Holly Burn, Ed Night and Gabby Best. Plus our late-night bar is back so your evening doesn’t have to stop just because the shows have, and there’s Da Luciano’s Pizza and coffee and cakes from The Hatch – all at the Wells Little Theatre. ALFIE BROWN

WORK IN PROGRESS

Wells Little Theatre Rehearsal Room, 5pm (60 mins), £7, 16+

Cedars Hall, 5pm (60 mins), £14, 14+

This is a brand new hour of jokes from Alfie Brown; truly subversive and torridly honest, he is one of the country’s most intelligent and funniest standup comedians. A pleasingly disruptive presence on the UK comedy scene, he is both a seasoned pro, and someone keen to test the limits of an idea’s acceptability.

Last year Mark Watson - a man prone to considerable anxiety - was asked to go on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls. It really wasn’t for him at all because his favourite things include safety, comfort, food and not being scared and miserable. But the experience changed him for the better, and now he’s written a sort of motivational talk about what it taught him. But with jokes.
