You may or may not know but today is World Environment Day.

Sustainability is a key part of our ongoing strategy and something we are taking steps to embed into everything we do. We are committed to continuous improvements to reduce our impact and the impact we pass on to our customers.

World Environment Day is about highlighting current issues, sharing stories and considering our actions in the future of the planet and all the little bits we can do to help.

We know we are at the beginning of our sustainability journey and have set ourselves big long term targets however we believe that to get there we need to be open and honest and celebrate small progress all the way along our supply chain

NetZero 2050. By 2030 we are committed to:

Reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42%

Reduce our Scope 3 emissions by 25%

We only procure greenelectricity for our head office and depots.

Reduced site emissions from our site generator having installed highly efficient refrigeration units in 2022.

Since 2022 we have removed 63 3tonnesof plastic from our operations

This is equivalent to roughly 45 red double decker buses

We champion the development of our employees, in the last year we have had 21 promotions internally

We’re driven to reduce emissions and we know driver behaviour can really impact this. We run driver training to ensure they are all maximising fuel efficieny. We also use vehicle telematics to monitor our vans.

In 2020 we implemented a dynamic routing system increasing the efficiency of our fleet and reducing excess miles travelled.

1601 tonnes of products have been donated to charity in the last 12 months

This is not only the least environmentally damaging but is also a way we can give back to the local community.

This has saved 389 tonnes of CO2 entering the atmosphore.

614% of our fresh produce and chilled suppliers are direct from producer relationships
