‘Afghan Allies Resettlement Appeal’
7 days, one incredible response “Thank you” to everyone… An unprecedented humanitarian crisis has unfolded in Afghanistan and, in the aftermath of hurried evacuations, tens of thousands of Afghan families face a new life, forced to leave with nothing but the clothes on their back. After being approached by a Wellington family with a charitable relationship with the UK Special Forces, the Wellington College Community came together to donate, volunteer and create care packages providing clothing and starter kits full of everyday essentials.
May your troubles be less, your blessings be more and nothing but happiness now come through your door ‘To all the people who have volunteered and donated to this initiative I would like to say thank you’ James Dahl, Master of Wellington College
Over a busy seven days, the Wellington Community filled the Robin Dyer Centre with a huge amount, and an amazing variety of items including clothes, food, electrical equipment and bedding which was sorted into adult, children, home, age and placed into “Welcome Care Packages.” Our staff, parents and pupils joined forces to create a final number of 2,295 packages, which have now been distributed to Afghan Allies starting their new lives in the UK.
