SELF-GUIDED TOUR We are SO excited that you are making the trip to Boise and are wanting to take a self-guided tour of Boise State and the city of Boise! We have compiled all the must-dos and must-sees so you can get a glimpse of what life as a Bronco could be like!

ON CAMPUS

Begin your tour at the corner of S. Lincoln Ave. and W. University Dr. 1

STUDENT

UNION BUILDING

• This is one of the most used buildings on our campus and we recommend you start here on your walk!

• Check out our Games Center (bowling alley, pool tables, and air hockey galore) • Visit the Bronco Shop to stock up on some blue and orange gear!

• Find one of our main food areas that includes Chick-fil-a, Moe’s Southwestern, Tree City Smoothies, Subway, Provisions on Demand, and Starbucks! If you venture down the hallway you will end up at the Boise River Cafe - our main cafeteria on campus!

• This building is also home to the Admissions Office (shoutout!)

CENTER

• This is our Student Gym right across the street from the Student Union Building! Membership is included in your student fees!

• Make sure to check out the aquatic center and rock climbing gym!

ALBERTSONS

STADIUM

• Stop in to our Boise State Hall of Fame to see some pieces of Boise State athletic history and take an iconic picture in front of the Blue field!

(Bonus points for tagging Boise State Admissions) 4

FIRST-YEAR

VILLAGE

• Take a stroll from the Stadium past Extra Mile Arena and through our “First Year Village” where you can meander past five of our first year residence halls (Chaffee, Taylor, Keiser, Driscoll, and Morrison).

ALBERTSONS

LIBRARY

• Take a few minutes to walk around our library! There are tons of study rooms, comfy “cocoon” chairs, and gorgeous views of the Boise River!

QUAD

• Our quad is the center of our campus geographically and is one of the busiest areas on campus! You can see the Administration Building (home of our University President, Financial Aid, and the Registrar), our solar-powered charging station, and great areas to study!

FRIENDSHIP

BRIDGE

• Friendship Bridge symbolizes the friendship between Boise State and the city of Boise (can I get an “aww”?!) and is found right on the Boise Greenbelt which is 25 miles of trail along the riverside!

BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS BUILDING

• Wander around this building to get a sense of what Boise State classes may be like! Check out some study rooms or classrooms on floors 2-4 or a lecture hall on the first floor!

• Home of our College of Business and Economics, this building used to be a hotel and is now full of classrooms, study spaces, and a cozy lobby to get some studying done before class!

• To get downtown from this bridge, you would turn right after crossing the bridge and then turn left onto Capitol Boulevard - a straight shot to the heart of downtown within a 15 minute walk.

• This is also home to more food options such as Einstein’s Bagels, Papa John’s Pizza, Grille Works, Panda Express, and a Provisions on Demand!

• Check out Skaggs Hall of Learning to view our largest lecture hall on campus (don’t sweat it - Professors use microphones, multiple screens, and a variety of Teaching Assistants!)

• You might see a giraffe head poking out from Zoo Boise (we aren’t even joking!)

• Our newest building on campus is an absolute show stopper! Head inside to see our World Museum, art spaces, and incredible views of Downtown and into the Foothills!

• Finish up your self-guided tour with a picture at our famous “B” where students take their first pictures as Broncos when they visit campus for the first time all the way until graduation pictures four years later!

AROUND TOWN TRANSPORTATION Everything in Boise is so close that you may not even need a rental car! Our campus is about a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of Downtown!

Try Boise Green Bike - Boise is known as one of America’s Most Bike Friendly Cities!

The airport is about a 10-minute drive from Downtown Boise (about a $10 Uber/Lyft ride)

THINGS TO DO PLACES TO SEE

SEASONAL ACTIVITIES

Check out the Idaho State Capitol Building located in the heart of Downtown!

Head to Quinn’s Pond to watch (or partake) in water sports!

You can rent kayaks and paddleboards or take a turn at the Whitewater Park where you can surf the Boise River!

Walk around Hyde Park in Boise’s Historic District (insider tip: take a quick 10-minute hike for breathtaking views and treat yourself with some homemade ice-cream or candy at Goody’s Soda Fountain) Drive (or hike) to Table Rock for a must-see panoramic view of Downtown Boise, Boise State’s Campus, and the foothills! It takes around 20 minutes to drive.

Floating the Boise River is a must-do if you are in town for a visit in the summer! Park at Ann Morrison Park and take the shuttle to Barber Park where you can rent and inflate tubes, kayaks, or rafts then float down the river all the way through campus until you get back to your car!

PLACES TO EAT Big City Coffee & Cafe: you better be hungry if you visit this sweet restaurant in the Linen District! They have the best biscuits and gravy (possibly ever) but you may want to opt for the ½ order as big portions are what they are known for!

Boise Fry Company: located right next to the Idaho Capitol building, enjoy some farm-to-table burgers and a huge variety of fries, salts, and sauces! Expert tip: try the purple potato fries with vanilla sea salt and blueberry ketchup - trust us!

Reef: enjoy some island-inspired dinner or a huge helping of nachos (no judgement here) downtown! Expert tip: if it’s warm out, make sure to ask for a table on the upstairs patio!

The STIL: Need an ice cream break (who doesn’t?!)? The STIL (sweetest things in life) has some of the best ice-cream in town with boozy options for the parents, vegan options, and some wacky flavor combos!
