A nother

week has gone by, and that means another group of our Winter Texans has arrived! November is a flurry of activity for us as we put the finishing touches on the season ahead and put into action all the plans we’ve made over the summer months. Our next big event is our Winter Texan Homecoming December 12! We hope you’ll join us at the new Mission Event Center for a day filled with appreciation and friendship, where we celebrate your safe return to South Texas. We’ll have lunch, entertainment by Jeff Gordon, and lots of fun. We’ll even crown a Homecoming King and Queen! Tickets are just $10 and include lunch. They’re on sale now, and will not be available at the door, so grab your friends and come on over to celebrate with us. Also in store, for those of you who like to travel--we have a special holiday trip to San Antonio planned for December 15-17. You’ll love traveling with us, as it’s always more fun to go in a group! And if your idea of travel involves places out of Texas, in addition to our cruise, we also have a special trip to Mexico City planned for late February. I hope you’ll join us for our upcoming events and trips! We’re so happy you’re here, and we can’t wait to see you at one of our many events and activities this winter! • We’re just connecting the dots,

Kristi

H HONORING ALL WHO SERVED H

he City of Mission set aside four days to commemorate Veterans Day 2019. “Our Mission is Service” was the theme for the Veterans Festival, which kicked off Friday, November 8, with a ceremony at the RGV State Veterans Cemetery and culminated Monday, November 11, with the “Fairway to Freedom” golf tournament. The tournament was free for participating veterans. The signature festival event was the inaugural Veterans Day Parade. Local organizations from Mission and surrounding communities took part in honoring American veterans. Patriotically decorated golf carts, elaborate floats, and marching-band performances highlighted the 80 parade entries. The procession began at Conway Avenue and ventured along Business 83 to Bryan Road Saturday, November 9, as community members lining the route waved and cheered. •
