CASE STUDY BACKGROUND WEEE Scotland Ltd. began working with Costa in
2014, to research and develop a process to avoid disposal of a touchscreen assembly used in the
growing Costa Express division.Working with Costa, our in-house repair and manufacturing division created a solution to repair and refurbish the
touchscreen assembly and went beyond providing a WEEE disposal solution.
THE CHALLENGE Costa Express, the self-service coffee vending
division of the Costa Coffee group, came to WEEE Scotland to source a repair and refurbishment
solution for electronic and mechanical parts from their network of vending machines across the UK,
Ireland and EU locations that historically were being disposed of. The key objective of the customer was
