Southwest Change Flight Date Policy

Southwest flight change can be made while maintaining certain guidelines set forth in the Southwest Airlines policy guide. As a passenger you can follow these guidelines so that you can go through the Southwest flight change process.

In accordance with Southwest's flight change policy, you may change your flight by paying a difference in the fare of the purchased ticket. There is no change fee to change your Southwest flight.

In accordance with Southwest's flight change policy, you can change your flight for a lower price using the change promotion code whenever it is available.

Another leverage given to passengers is the exercise of their travel funds, which under normal circumstances expire within one year of purchase. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, all existing travel funds will be extended to 2022 for maturity.

You can convert your existing travel funds into Southwest flight points that can be used to purchase a new ticket. All conversions should be completed by December 15, 2020. They are not reversible. According to Southwest Airlines flight change, you can change your flight based on a medical emergency, you will only be charged the changed fare. No change fees apply. All corrections and name changes can be made within the first 24 hours when you proceed to change your flight using the Southwest Airlines flight change. You must book a new ticket with the correct spelling of your name and cancel the old ticket.

You can also change your flight after checking in, as long as there are at least 40 minutes left before the flight departs.
