Alberto Webster may still be in his twenties, but he’s already left an indelible mark on Marbella’s competitive real estate market. As a dynamic entrepreneur with a visionary approach, he’s risen to become one of the industry’s standout figures. In this interview, we discover more about Alberto’s inspiring journey—from his ambitious start at just 18 to his current roles in leadership and entrepreneurship.
Alberto’s journey into real estate began in 2017, when he was just 18 years old. While many his age were still figuring out their paths, Alberto’s focus on the real estate market was unwavering. His early entry into the industry was fuelled by a passion for property and a vision that few young professionals have at that stage.
“Real estate felt like a natural path for me,” Alberto reflects. “I saw the potential to make a difference in Marbella’s luxury market, and I was determined to start early.”
By the age of 21, Alberto’s rapid ascent had led him to the role of Director—a position that many industry veterans might take years to reach. His ability to lead and execute a clear business vision was quickly recognised by those around him. Alberto attributes his leadership style to his early experiences, learning to blend his natural entrepreneurial instincts with a practical, results-driven approach.
“Taking on the role of Director at 21 years was challenging, but it taught me the importance of focus, persistence, and adaptability,” he says.
Youngest
Alberto’s remarkable career trajectory took another leap when, at 24, he became the youngest CEO in Marbella’s real estate sector. This milestone not only cemented his place in the industry but also brought recognition to his approach and achievements. His fresh perspective and drive have set him apart in a market dominated by seasoned professionals.
“Age is just a number,” he comments. “What really matters is your commitment to your work and the results you deliver. Being young in this industry is a strength because it allows me to bring fresh ideas to the table.”
In addition to his real estate successes, Alberto has diversified his entrepreneurial ventures, including an investment in an upcoming Amazon company based in Switzerland. This move aligns with his vision to remain at the forefront of emerging opportunities across industries.
In 2024, at just 25, Alberto expanded his influence in the real estate world by founding Webster&Co Real Estate and co-founding CDS Building Group, a
construction company based in Marbella. This move construction company based in Marbella. This move into construction allows him to manage property sales as well as have a hand in developing them from the ground up. He simultaneously diversified his portfolio, investing in high-end properties and expanding his reach across Marbella’s luxury property landscape.
“Starting Webster&Co and CDS Building Group felt like the next natural step,” Alberto explains. “I wanted to create a brand that reflects the highest standards in real estate and construction, and being able to do that alongside my investments has been rewarding.”
Alberto’s work has seen him close deals on some of the most exclusive villas in Marbella, including those in sought-after areas like La Zagaleta, Sierra Blanca, and the Golden Mile. His experience handling these highprofile transactions has been integral to his growth as a leader in the luxury real estate market.
“These sales represent more than just transactions,” he says. “They are a testament to the trust that clients place in us and to the reputation we’ve built over the years.”
Amid his professional achievements, Alberto’s personal life has also taken a joyful turn. Recently, he became engaged to Lora Pavlova, marking an exciting new chapter. Together with a supportive partner, Alberto is optimistic about the future, both personally and professionally.

Marbella, the famed beach resort on Spain’s Costa del Sol, is synonymous with luxury, glamour, and world-class entertainment. From its roots as a small fishing village to becoming a prime destination for international celebrities and jetsetters, Marbella’s transformation is nothing short of remarkable. But how did this Mediterranean town evolve into a symbol of opulence, and what does the future hold for Marbella? Come with us as we explore the rich history of Marbella, examine how it became the luxury hotspot it is today, and peer into the future for this thriving cosmopolitan haven.
Marbella’s Past: A Quiet Fishing Village with Ancient Roots
Archaeological evidence suggests that the area was inhabited as far back as the Palaeolithic period, with settlers drawn to the region’s abundant natural resources and strategic location along the Mediterranean coast. During the Roman era, Marbella was part of the Roman province of Hispania, leaving behind remarkable remnants such as Roman baths and villas that are still visible today. Notable examples include the ancient Basílica Vega del Mar in San Pedro Alcántara, one of Spain’s oldest Christian sites, and the iconic Roman bridge that inspired the name of the renowned Puente Romano Hotel and Resort—a well-preserved structure that continues to stand as a testament to the region’s rich historical legacy.
One of the most significant influences on Marbella’s early development came during the Islamic period. Known as “Marbi-la” under Moorish rule, the town flourished from the 8th century onward. The Moors introduced advanced agricultural techniques, and their architectural legacy is still evident in the old town, or “Casco Antiguo,” with its narrow, winding streets and whitewashed buildings. The Moorish fortress, “Alcazaba,” and other historical landmarks remain standing as reminders of this period, contributing to the town’s unique blend of cultures.
However, Marbella remained relatively under the radar during the centuries following the Christian reconquest in 1485. For hundreds of years, it was little more than a small fishing village, its economy primarily driven by agriculture, mining, and fishing. Marbella’s golden sands were still untouched by the crowds, and it wasn’t until the mid-20th century that things began to change dramatically.
Marbella’s Present: From Fishing Village to Luxury Destination
The turning point in Marbella’s history came in the 1940s and 1950s. A Spanish aristocrat, Ricardo Soriano, and his nephew, Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe, were instrumental in transforming Marbella into a glamorous holiday destination. Soriano was the first to recognise Marbella’s potential, purchasing land to build estates. The iconic Marbella Club was founded in 1954 by Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe after he purchased land and transformed a former finca into a luxurious beachfront hotel. His vision was to create a sophisticated yet informal retreat, which became an instant success, attracting royalty, movie stars, and influential figures from around the world.
It wasn’t long before Marbella gained a reputation as a playground for the rich and famous. The exclusive hotel, nestled between the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and the picturesque La Concha Mountain, set the tone for what Marbella would become: a place where luxury and natural beauty converge.
During the 1960s and 1970s, Marbella’s growth boomed. The construction of more luxury hotels, restaurants, and exclusive residential areas such as Puerto Banús, along with the creation of the Marbella Golf Club and a host of other up-market golf clubs, cemented its status as a prime location for the elite. Puerto Banús, the luxury yachting marina, became a symbol of Marbella’s appeal to the international jet set. Today, it remains one of the top spots in the Mediterranean for superyachts, high-end shopping, and celebrity sightings.
The growth in development wasn’t just limited to the luxury sector. Marbella’s infrastructure expanded rapidly, including the building of roads, public services, and tourist attractions. It became a cosmopolitan hub, attracting not only holidaymakers but also investors and expatriates from across Europe. With a year-round pleasant climate, stunning beaches, and a welcoming atmosphere, it is no wonder that Marbella became a beloved home for people from all walks of life.
Cultural and Social Life in Marbella Today Marbella isn’t just about luxury—though that certainly plays a part in its appeal. The city offers a rich cultural and social life that blends its Andalucian roots with modern, global influences. Walking through the Old Town, visitors are transported back in time, with its picturesque plazas, historic churches, and quaint tapas bars, juxtaposed against chic boutiques and cutting-edge dining establishments.
Marbella’s art scene is also thriving, with galleries, museums, and art festivals showcasing both local and international talent. The annual Starlite Festival, held in Marbella’s Cantera de Nagüeles, brings some of the biggest names in music and entertainment to the town, further enhancing its cultural credentials.
Socially, Marbella continues to host high-profile events and draws celebrities from around the world. Whether it’s an international film star arriving at the exclusive Puente Romano Beach Resort or high-net-worth individuals attending private events at beachfront villas, the town has an undeniable appeal for those seeking both relaxation and excitement.
As we look to Marbella’s future, several trends are emerging that point to where the city is heading. One of the most significant changes on the horizon is a growing focus on sustainability. Marbella, like many other luxury destinations, is grappling with the need to balance development and environmental protection.
In recent years, there has been an increased emphasis on sustainable tourism and environmentally friendly practices in Marbella. Many new developments are incorporating green building techniques, energyefficient systems, and eco-conscious landscaping. Hotels and resorts are adopting initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint, from solar energy installations to water conservation measures. Local authorities are also promoting eco-tourism activities, such as nature hikes, cycling routes, and marine conservation efforts. Even our bridges are adorned with plants as part of the greening of the city.
In the years to come, Marbella is likely to continue moving toward a more sustainable model of tourism. The city’s government has expressed a commitment
to protecting its natural beauty while also catering to the demands of modern tourists. This balance will be crucial as Marbella seeks to maintain its status as a luxury destination without compromising the environment that makes it so special.
One of the most promising aspects of Marbella’s future is the push for inclusive growth. While the town has long been associated with affluence, there is a recognition that true luxury must also include a strong sense of community and equality. Initiatives to support local businesses, improve public services, and create opportunities for all residents are gaining momentum.
Marbella’s international community continues to grow, with expats from all over the world choosing to make it their home. This influx brings diverse perspectives and fosters a more inclusive, vibrant social fabric. As a result, Marbella is increasingly seen not just as a vacation spot but as a dynamic, multicultural city where people from all walks of life can thrive.
The future of Marbella also involves technological advancements that will enhance both the visitor experience and the quality of life for its residents. Smart city initiatives are already in progress, including the implementation of advanced public transport systems, smart traffic management, and digital tourism platforms. The integration of digital technologies will allow Marbella to become a more connected and efficient city, catering to the tech-savvy global traveller while ensuring its residents enjoy modern conveniences.
Marbella’s Fascinating Past Meets a Bright Future Marbella’s evolution from a quiet fishing village to a global luxury destination is a story of vision, opportunity, and transformation. Today, it stands as one of Europe’s most glamorous and sought-after locales, renowned for its high-end resorts, beautiful beaches, and vibrant social scene. But as Marbella looks to the future, its focus is expanding beyond just luxury.
With an emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity, Marbella is poised to remain at the forefront of global tourism while adapting to the changing needs of modern travellers and residents. Its foundation built on a diverse cultural heritage will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping its identity, offering a blend of old-world charm and contemporary sophistication.
In this ever-evolving town, the future holds the promise of growth, progress, and continued excellence—a future where Marbella remains not just a place to visit, but a place to belong.
Marbella’s rise as a gourmet destination traces back to the late 20th century, when luxury offerings began to elevate the town’s profile beyond its glamorous beaches and resorts. This shift was driven by an influx of high-end visitors from across the globe, eager for more than just sunshine—they wanted world-class dining experiences to match their luxurious lifestyle. The arrival in the early 2000s of Michelinstarred establishments populated by renowned chefs and restaurateurs, not least Marbella’s homegrown celebrity chef Dani García, cemented Marbella’s status as a culinary hotspot.
Over the years, Marbella has grown into a place where discerning diners can indulge in exceptional cuisine that blends traditional Andalucian flavours with innovative techniques, offering far more than one might expect for a city of its size.
Today, Marbella boasts an impressive menu of restaurants that continue to attract food enthusiasts from around the world. Establishments like Skina, Messina, and Back have put Marbella on the map, proving that this city is no longer just about summer vacations but a serious player in the international gourmet scene.

Estepona’s coastal location also delivers an abundance of fresh seafood, which many restaurants incorporate into their menus with creative flair. A visit to La Casa del Rey in the heart of the old town is a must for anyone looking to enjoy gourmet tapas paired with an excellent selection of wines.
East Marbella: Gourmet Delights in Elviria and Beyond Heading east from Marbella, the area of Elviria and the surrounding communities offer a more laid-back yet equally impressive dining scene. Known for its stunning beaches and upscale residential communities, East Marbella is home to several restaurants that combine gourmet experiences with relaxed coastal vibes.
El Lago, located in the Greenlife Golf Resort, remains a top culinary destination. The restaurant continues to offer a refined menu of Andalucian-inspired dishes, focusing on locally sourced ingredients and seasonal produce. The scenic lakeside setting makes it a beautiful spot for a leisurely, elegant meal.
For beachside dining with a high-end twist, The Beach House in Elviria is a popular choice. Known for its fresh seafood and fusion dishes, this restaurant has become a favourite among locals and visitors alike. Additionally, Simbad along a quiet stretch of beach close to Cabopino Marina is another excellent option, offering creative seafood dishes with spectacular views of the Mediterranean.

Its impressive array of Michelinstarred restaurants and charmingly authentic Old Town treasures make it a true gourmet destination.
One thing is certain. Whether you’re a lover of innovative culinary techniques or a traditionalist at heart, Marbella’s diverse dining options ensure that your palate will be as satisfied as your senses.

The Costa del Sol is also known affectionately as the “Costa del Golf” by those in the know—and for good reason. This beautiful stretch of Mediterranean coastline is home to some of the world’s most prestigious golf courses, drawing enthusiasts and professionals from across the globe.
Golf here is more than a sport; it is an integral part of the lifestyle that impacts the local economy, culture, and even the real estate landscape. With Marbella at its heart, the Costa del Sol has become synonymous with luxury living and world-class golf, offering a unique synergy between sport and leisure that is hard to find anywhere else in the world.
The success of golf on the Costa del Sol is largely attributed to the region’s extraordinary climate. With over 320 days of sunshine each year, golfers can enjoy their passion regardless of the season. This unique advantage makes Marbella and the surrounding area a year-round destination for those seeking to escape colder climes. Unlike northern European courses which close for the winter, the golf clubs here remain open all year round, thriving during what would be off-peak months elsewhere.
Furthermore, the region’s geography lends itself to the sport. The undulating hills, mountain backdrops, and coastal views create challenging courses amidst breathtaking scenery. This blend of natural beauty and perfect golfing conditions attracts players of all levels, from professionals looking to hone their skills to tourists wanting a memorable round on holiday.
Marbella: The Heart of Costa del Golf Marbella is undoubtedly the hub of the golfing scene on the Costa del Sol. The area boasts some of the most famous golf courses in Europe, such as Los Naranjos Golf Club, Aloha Golf Club, Las Brisas Golf Club, and La Quinta Golf & Country Club, in the area of Nueva Andalucía known as “Golf Valley”. Each course offers something unique, whether it’s a challenging layout, stunning views, or luxurious clubhouses.
One of the major appeals of golfing in Marbella is the lifestyle that accompanies it. Many of the golf resorts in the area are integrated into luxury developments, offering world-class golf and also high-end amenities like spas, fine dining, and exclusive residences. This has influenced the local real estate market, with many buyers drawn to properties located on or near golf courses. Golf communities such as La Zagaleta and Los Flamingos offer residents the best of both worlds—access to top-tier golf and a secluded, upscale lifestyle. For many, owning property in these areas is about more than just having a home; it’s about investing in a particular way of life, where golf is central.
Just a short drive from Marbella, Estepona and Benahavís have also become hotbeds for golf enthusiasts. Courses like El Paraiso Golf Club in Estepona and Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club in Benahavís provide an escape from the busier parts of Marbella while still offering the same high standards of play. These courses are laid out over rolling hills, offering challenging terrain and panoramic views of the coast.
In recent years, the rise of luxury developments in these areas has mirrored the growing popularity of their golf courses. Benahavís, in particular, has become a sought-after destination for those looking to combine their passion for golf with a more tranquil, countryside lifestyle. Properties here cater to those looking for exclusivity and natural beauty.
Sotogrande: Where Golf Meets Luxury
Continuing westward, Sotogrande is the epitome of luxury golfing on the Costa del Sol. It is home to the world-renowned Valderrama Golf Club, one of Europe’s most prestigious courses, which gained international fame after hosting the 1997 Ryder Cup. Valderrama is known as a symbol of excellence in design, challenge, and exclusivity.
In addition to Valderrama, Sotogrande boasts other top-tier courses like Real Club de Golf Sotogrande and La Reserva Club Sotogrande. These courses are known for their pristine conditions and sophisticated ambience, attracting high-profile visitors, from professional golfers to international celebrities.
Golf’s Role in the Costa del Sol’s Economy
Beyond its appeal as a sport, golf plays a crucial role in the economy of Marbella and the wider Costa del Sol. The region is a magnet for golf tourism, with visitors coming from across Europe and beyond to play its courses. This influx of visitors, particularly during the winter months, provides a significant boost to the local economy. Restaurants, hotels, and shops all benefit from the steady flow of golf tourists, many of whom stay in the region for extended periods.
Moreover, the golf sector has shaped the real estate market significantly. Golf courses often anchor high-end residential developments, attracting international buyers interested in properties that offer direct access to state-of-the-art golfing facilities. These developments contribute to the Costa del Sol’s reputation as a luxury destination, offering a lifestyle that blends sport, leisure, and exclusivity.
For many, golf on the Costa del Sol is more than just a game. The region’s golf courses offer visitors and residents alike a complete leisure experience. After a round of golf, players can unwind at one of the many beach clubs, indulge in fine dining, or enjoy a wellness retreat, all within a short distance from the green.
This lifestyle has drawn not only golfers but also those seeking a luxurious, sun-soaked existence. Many of the region’s real estate offerings are marketed with golf as a central feature, and for good reason. Buyers are attracted to the idea of living in a community that offers direct access to golf, in addition to the other trappings of a high-end lifestyle—be it proximity to Marbella’s nightlife or the serene exclusivity of some of the upmarket gated developments located nearby.
Golf is an integral part of life on the Costa del Sol, with Marbella central to this vibrant community. From its unparalleled climate and stunning courses to its influence on the local economy and real estate, golf is deeply woven into the fabric of the region. Whether you’re a professional golfer, a holidaymaker, or a property investor, the appeal of the Costa del Sol’s golfing lifestyle is undeniable. Here, golf is a way of life, set against one of the most beautiful and luxurious backdrops in the world.

For those who love a high-octane challenge, kitesurfing along Marbella’s shores will make your heart race as you soar over the waves. Marbella’s sea breeze makes it an ideal spot for this adventurous sport, with plenty of schools ready to teach you the ropes.
Prefer something a little more tranquil but equally exciting? Grab a kayak or take a paddleboard tour along Marbella’s coastline. You can paddle past stunning beaches and even spot dolphins playing in the distance. There’s something magical about exploring Marbella from the sea, where the mountains meet the ocean, creating views you’ll remember for a lifetime.
Skiing: Hit the Slopes Just a Short Drive Away
Yes, you read that right—skiing near Marbella! Just a two-hour drive from the sunny coast, Sierra Nevada offers world-class skiing and snowboarding. Few can imagine it’s possible to spend your morning on the slopes, carving through fresh powder, and by the afternoon, be back in Marbella enjoying a seaside lunch. Where else can you have both a winter wonderland and beach bliss in the same day?
The Sierra Nevada resort boasts over 100 kilometres of ski runs for all skill levels, from beginner-friendly slopes to thrilling black runs for seasoned pros. And it’s not just for skiing—there’s snowshoeing, snowboarding, and even night skiing if you want to add a little extra adventure to your day.
Canyoning: Adventure Through Marbella’s Hidden Gorges
For the true adrenaline junkies, canyoning is a must. Marbella is home to some spectacular gorges where you can rappel down waterfalls, scramble over rocks, and swim through crystal-clear pools. It’s a fullon adventure that will test your strength, courage, and endurance—but the sense of achievement at the end is unbeatable.
One of the best spots for canyoning near Marbella is the Rio Verde canyon. The rush of descending through narrow rock passages while being surrounded by lush greenery and flowing water is an unforgettable experience. It’s the perfect way to cool down while embracing the raw beauty of Marbella’s natural landscapes.
If you prefer your adventure on two wheels, Marbella is also a dream destination for cyclists. Whether you’re a casual rider or a hardcore mountain biker, there are trails to suit every pace. You can take a leisurely ride along the Paseo Marítimo, which stretches along the coastline and offers stunning views of the Mediterranean, or, for more of a challenge, head inland to explore the mountain biking trails of Sierra de las Nieves. The terrain here is rugged, but it is well worth the effort as you race down trails with sweeping views of both the mountains and the sea.
Road cyclists will love the routes that wind through the Ronda mountains, offering both challenging climbs and exhilarating descents through picturesque white-washed villages. The Marbella region is a popular cyclist’s paradise with diverse terrain that will push your limits and provide an unforgettable experience.
Climbing and Paragliding: Take Your Adventure to New Heights
For the ultimate thrill-seekers, Marbella has even more to offer! The nearby El Chorro gorge is one of Spain’s most famous climbing spots, offering challenging routes for climbers of all levels. If you prefer to take in Marbella’s beauty from above, try paragliding. Soar like a bird over the Andalucian mountains and coastlines, getting a bird’s-eye view of the landscape. It’s a peaceful yet exhilarating way to experience the natural beauty of the area.
Adventure at Your Doorstep
Whether you’re hiking to new heights, diving into the deep blue, or skiing down snowy slopes, Marbella offers a wide range of adventures that many visitors overlook. The best part? All these thrilling activities are just a short distance from your doorstep if you’re lucky enough to call Marbella home. Living here means having access to worldclass outdoor experiences at any moment, adding excitement and adventure to your everyday life.
