A bit more about our RARE suppliers…

Set at the heart of the 12,000 acre Sussex estate, Goodwood Home Farm is one of the largest lowland organic farms in the U.K. The farm nestles at the foot of the Sussex Downs and has soil which is mainly free draining chalk, ideal for spring malting barley, used to brew our own ale and lager and for the grazing of sheep and cattle. Organic Food from Goodwood is grown in the best possible soil and environment without the use of fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Goodwood Estate produce from Rare and local breeds, reared in the most compassionate way and fed home grown organic fodder all their lives. Food from Goodwood is full of flavour, yet simply and beautifully prepared in order to retain all of its goodness. The Cowdray Estate Farm Shop was awarded Sussex Food Shop of the Year in the Sussex Food & Drink Awards 2019, this alone gives massive kudos to the quality of produce they sell and make by hand. All their Pies, Quiches and Cakes are made on site by their talented Chef team using the best local ingredients available. A lot of their meat comes directly from their Estate Farm along with their Eggs. Flint Owl are an Artisan Bakers in Lewes, East Sussex. They simply love bread! More to the point they love long fermented breads made from the finest flours, water and sea salt and that's it. No chemical additives, improvers or fats get anywhere near their doughs. Their breads, croissants and pastries are all handcrafted from scratch and baked in small batch sizes using ingredients that are organic and of only the highest quality. At Flint Owl they don’t believe in cutting corners for the sake of production which we feel translates into breads that are both delicious and wholesome, and also uniquely characterful. Real Patisserie bakes authentic French patisserie in Brighton. We will be using them to fulfill orders that our main supplier Flint Owl may not be able to fulfill because of volumes


A bit more about our RARE suppliers…

Troels and Pawel have shared a long bread adventure. Troels left his native Denmark for London in 2001 and started a successful artisan bakery. Pawel, who is originally from Poland, joined the bakery soon after. The wholesale bakery specialized in sourdough breads and patisserie. They supplied shops, restaurants and hotels including Brindisa, The Providores, Clarence House and The Lanesborough. Feeling the need for new challenges and to live and work outside London, Troels left the city for West Sussex in 2011. He became one of the founders and creative director of The Hungry Guest, a delicatessen with its own bakery. Pawel ran the bakery and their breads won several World Bread Awards. Troels left The Hungry Guest in 2015. SØDT was founded by Troels Bendix and Pawel Litewka in 2018 in Petworth. Horrocks Green Grocers of the Witterings are Suppliers of the highest quality, beautifully fresh fruit & veg to West Sussex and beyond. Using fruit and veg that is IN SEASON means they always source the freshest most local produce. They are dedicated to promoting British Growers that are as local as possible to West Sussex.

His passion is powered by his own frustration as a consumer, which means his attention to detail is second to none. He cooks all the meals with his small team in Hampshire. Refilled is a market leading wholefood and zero waste re-fillery operation in the centre of Chichester. Founded recently they are playing a brilliant part locally in reducing the impact plastic waste has on our planet! All orders are hand weighed so they are truly a bespoke, individual customer service. Founded in 2015 and based in Midhurst, Noble and Stace are an Award winning Local Producer and Chocolatier. They hand make staggeringly delicious and wonderfully RARE Chocolate. It will be Chocolate like you have never tasted before! and the presentation / style of the creations are totally unique. You will simply become a Chocolate snob!

NOSH was born from founder Tanya’s quest to make healthier alternatives to commercial snacks and her endless fascination with flavour! Based in West Sussex she creates treats packed with energy and goodness. NOSH are free from added sugar – they’re luscious balls of energy to feast on pre or post exercise, for grazing on the go or to produce at school pick-ups when kids say “snack?” before they say “hello”! Tara created “A Little Nutty” because she loved baking with nuts and seeds and she recognised how important nuts and seeds are to health, especially gut health. Her handmade creations are 100% natural and are Grain and Wheat Free with no Refined sugar at all yet unbelievable taste – now that’s RARE for a Granola/Cereal.

FOUR WALLS WINE CO.

The Four Walls Wine Company was started as a club by Barry Phillips in 1969 which expanded and eventually became a commercial enterprise affiliated to the White Horse at Chilgrove. The wine list of the White Horse won every vinous award in the world over the 30 years that Barry was landlord. When Barry retired from the restaurant business in 1999 he continued with this first love - wine. The Four Walls Wine Company offers not only stock accumulated during the early years at the White Horse but also wines purchased from great vineyards and vintages in more recent years. You won’t find a RARER Purveyor of fine wine. Ashling Park Estate has to be one of the luckiest places in the whole of the South Downs. Our loamy soil and sheltered position provide the perfect environment for growing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – the holy trinity of sparkling wine grapes. To supervise the magical transformation from vine to wine we have secured the services of Dermot Sugrue, one of the most talented (and award-winning) wine makers in the industry if not the whole world. Now with all that going for it, haven’t you just got to try it? Decanter, Wine GB and Sommelier Awards have and have awarded it Gold and Silver Medals. You cant get this product in the supermarkets!! Tinkture make fabulous Rose Gin in Cornwall. It is Crafted using the finest organic ingredients. It is made from David Austin Roses from a certified Organice Farm and is then distilled by hand in copper pot stills on the Cornish Coast. A note from the founder Hannah… Tinkture is the result of a personal journey into the provenance of alcohol and the best way to keep our bodies healthy on a night out. Looking for an answer, that is how my experiments began into cleaning up alcohol. Each purchase comes with brilliant recipe info for the perfect RARE G&T experience.
