HWC Spirits Celebrating our maverick national spirit by presenting the best of the craft distilling movement. Craft distilleries are vigilant operations making spirits in small batches, often producing less in a year than multi-national, branded distilleries bottle in an hour. The large, continuous stills used by major producers are eschewed here for handoperated pot stills. Pot stills are labor-intensive but allow the craft distiller better control over flavors, and leave room for experimentation. This allows craft distillers to focus on local ingredients and envelopepushing techniques to make small volume batches of unique, high quality spirits. As recently as the late 1990’s, there were only a handful
of craft distillers in the U.S. Now, there are more than 200, igniting fires beneath small copper pot stills located in any type of edifice big enough to house them. Within the span of a single generation, there exists an entire and varied sub-category of idiosyncratic spirits made by creative, entrepreneurial individuals looking to expand the horizons for homegrown spirits. Their collective mission is a new breed of distilled beverages, distinctively American, that stands a philosophy apart from over-hyped, soulless mainstream offerings. When asked how he justified ignoring Prohibition, Pendergast quipped, “The people are thirsty.” Today the people are still thirsty. Bitters are as old as cocktails, but Cocktailpunk looks to the future, not the past. Our goal is simple: to create compelling accents for the modern cocktail. Cocktailpunk cocktail bitters are a carefully chosen set of basic elements that are focused and nuanced, simple yet devious. They are perfect in classic cocktails, but were really designed for the cocktails that haven’t been invented yet.
Verino
Verino Distillery was founded in Argos in 1978 by Babis Spiliopoulos and is currently run by him and his son, Thanos Spiliopoulos. It produces high-quality tsipouro, varietal tsipouro, barrel-aged tsipouro, as well as an interesting range of liqueurs. The exceptional tsipouro quality is primarily due to the fine raw materials (grapes from top local wine producers – mainly Domaine Skouras), as well as to the art of traditional distillation, using two 1,300 litre copper pot stills.

This distillery goes back 4 generations and is now run by Silvio and his brother Aldo. Their Sambuca and Anisette are made with seed of anice only grown in the region of the hills of Ascoli Piceno. They offer a superior spirit and a great value.

Tullibardine
The history of Tullibardine as a location for brewing and distilling is one of the oldest in Scotland, dating back to the 15th century. Our story begins in 1488, when a young King James, IV of Scotland, stopped by before his coronation to purchase beer from the local brewery. This brewery was known for producing fine beer as a result of the local water source. By 1503, the King had granted them a royal charter. It was in 1947 that William DelméEvans began converting this original brewery into the Tullibardine Distillery. Upon testing the water from the nearby springs, Delmé-Evans knew he had found the perfect location for distilling Whisky.

Azunia
Azuñia is smooth, clean craft tequila with authentic flavor from the local terroir in every sip. It is a second- generation, family-owned-and-operated Rancho Miravalle estate, which has created exceptional tequila for nearly 20 years. Made with 100% pure Weber Blue Agave grown in the Jalisco lowlands, they harvest by hand and roast the organic agave in traditional clay hornos. They then finish with a natural, open-air fermentation process and bottle on-site in small batches.
Frida Kahlo
The production of Frida Kahlo Tequila is all-natural and made from handselected blue agave at the peak of its maturity. The heart of the agave is slowcooked inside antique adobe brick ovens for no less than twenty-eight hours, and then it is steamed and cooled to remove any bitterness from the agave. The agave is then finally pressed to extract only the best juices that are going to be distilled in antique copper stills. The result is a smooth, superb tasting, superpremium Tequila.
