A PROVEN OUTSOURCED CONVERTING PARTNER YOU CAN RELY ON
Web Industries is a proven partner that offers dedicated state-of-the-art facilities, staffed by a renowned team of specialists who optimize the precision slitting and thermoplastic formatting of advanced composites and other high-value materials.
We work in a consultative role with our customers to make sure you are taking advantage of every possible timesaving, labor-saving, and cost-saving optimization that nextgen technology and deep expertise can deliver.
We maintain standards and regulations across multiple industries to ensure quality, safety and compliance. For example, we maintain ISO 9001, 13485, 14001, AS/ EN9100D, NADCAP certifications, and FDA registration among many other international quality certifications.
Lightning-fast R&D prototyping and scale up
Our facilities incorporate advanced digital capabilities that allow for faster and more flexible set-ups, material changeovers, and scale-ups. We understand the pace of development and production in today’s world.
For over 50 years, our team of problem solvers has supported some of the most innovative projects around the world— across dozens of demanding industries and applications.
Companies developing or using challenging flexible materials trust our precision slitting services for reliable, cost-effective, and scalable formatting for nonwoven specialty films, composites, and plastics. Our innovative slitting solutions are customized to get the most out of your high-value flexible materials. With over 50 slitting lines around the world, we provide key market proximity and capacity.
Our experience spans the breadth of composite material slitting: thermosets, thermoplastics, adhesives, dry fiber, BMI, CMC, and pre-laminated materials.
Our unique PrecisionSlit™ slitting technology enables us to format prepreg composite tapes as narrow as 0.125” (3.2 mm). We match tape length, winding patterns, liner materials, and spool sizes to meet our customers’ specific fabrication requirements, providing them with custom formatted material that streamlines workflow, increases production rates, and reduces overall waste.
Benefits of PrecisionSlit™ Technology Include:
• Improved material yields and laydown rates
• Maximized production efficiency and “uptime”
• Ability to evaluate and optimizes the end-to-end process (inputs, processes, final spool configuration)
• Shorted timeline to production
Ultra Narrow Slitting for Additive Manufacturing capabilities include:
• Slit tape down to 1mm to feed additive manufacturing process
• Quality in width and surface control
• Adjustability to any width, with any material
• Scale to drive yield and efficiency to meet lower costs for Additive Manufacturing technology
We have processed more than over the past five decades. 11 billion linear feet of slit tapes
Web Industries continually develops advanced technologies to slit, spool, chop, or pre-form thermoplastics to quality levels and scale volumes for automated fabrication processes. We match tape length, winding patterns, liner materials, and spool sizes to meet your specific manufacturing requirements, providing. These custom formatted materials streamline fabrication workflow, increase production rates, and reduce overall waste. We provide the “Right” formats to meet both existing and new technology needs. Formats are based on process optimization and cost targets—not limited to existing sizes/format. Web Industries collaboration with material suppliers, part fabricators, and equipment providers supports next-generation processes.
The range of formats available include:
Precision BiasPly™
Our automated process cuts and seams 0-degree 12-inch and 24-inch parent materials to produce quasi-isotropic 50-inch-wide parent rolls that are pre-oriented (at 45 or 90 degrees) and can be pre-formatted materials for custom AFP, ATL, CCM, and hand lay-up manufacturing requirements.
Web Industries precision slits and chops thermoplastic composite (TPC) material for compression molding. The chopped product is pre-weighed to meet individual part mold requirements. We also recycle and chop virgin TPC materials left over from other formatting operations to reduce or eliminate material waste. Our innovations with these materials contribute to sustainability.
