New approach to epoxy film perforation
Improves performance of sandwich structures and other parts for aerospace, automotive, and energy
A unique stamping technology eliminates drawbacks of traditional perforating methods.
Our new process for precision perforation is driven by a computerguided system that can be used with a variety of advanced materials, including aluminum, copper, and mylar foils. A single perforation process can be used for layered materials.
This new customizable perforation method solves a number of problems that have challenged the industry, such as material displacement, unwanted imprinting, complications with thermal resins, structural compromise, and imprecise tensions and geometries.
This innovative technology offers:
• Significant precision, time-savings, and performance advantages
• Better control over geometries/integrity compared to “hot needle” processes
• Improved structural integrity and consistency of resin performance without changing the material state (non-cured)
• Easy integration of additional in-line processes (e.g. trimming and layering)
• Confidence in the air-flow integrity of honeycomb structures
This customizable process allows us to slit to needed widths with aerospace grade quality and continue to provide additional value by trimming the edges within the machine and laminate the material with an additional poly backing liner. This ensures a seamless integration into customers’ processes, eliminating the need for an intermediary step.
