MAY - JANUARY 2025
Hye Springs Ranch, set in the Texas Hill Country, captures the spirit of modern hill country living through four unique “Sunday House” designs and a central amenity center. Each cabin is crafted for intimacy and privacy, using traditional materials —field limestone, metal cladding, and timber—to integrate seamlessly with the landscape
Designed as modular “kits of parts,” each Sunday House centers around a stone mass with modern extensions like screened porches and bedrooms. The amenity center offers shared spaces, including a gym, pool, co-working lounge, and BBQ pavilion, echoing the style of the homes to foster a unified community.
As Lead Designer and Project Manager, I collaborated closely with the client, guiding design presentations, coordinating consultants, and managing the project from concept through construction documents to deliver a cohesive, enduring design.

NOVEMBER - OCTOBER 2024 Nestled on the banks of the Frio River, the Linnet’s Wings campsite provides an immersive retreat experience aligned with the H.E. Butt Foundation’s vision. The site welcomes campers with the Ranch House—a timber-framed hub featuring an open kitchen and dining area with expansive views of Circle Bluff and the river, framed by cypress columns. Along the riverbank, six cozy cabins, each with bunk beds and modern amenities, are designed to accommodate groups while blending into the natural landscape. The open-air Round Up Pavilion between the cabins and Ranch House offers a community gathering space with easy access to the waterfront.
As Lead Designer, I guided the project from concept through construction documents, ensuring that each structure harmonized with the rugged landscape using field limestone, timber, and metal cladding. The design blends t raditional camp warmth with modern comfort, fulfilling the Foundation’s mission to foster community and reflection in the heart of the Hill Country.

JULY - AUGUST 2024
The Oakwell Court Dermatology Office was designed as a ground-up clinic and research facility for a rapidly expanding medical practice, located adjacent to existing facilities. The layout prioritizes complex staffing needs, with a pod system that places Medical Assistant stations between exam rooms and provider offices, streamlining access and optimizing workflow. Anchored by a central lobby, the building’s design features left and right wings flanked by these functional pods.
The site’s constraints guided a low, linear footprint that follows the property’s contours, grounding the building in its natural surroundings. Drawing on local history, the design incorporates rough-hewn brick, stucco details, and an earthtoned palette to create a warm, welcoming environment. Daylight access is emphasized throughout, with courtyards, balconies, and views of surrounding oak groves offering patients and staff a calm, restorative connection to nature.

FEBRUARY - APRIL 2024 Inspired by the success of the Kansas City Ferris wheel, Icon aimed to create a vibrant landmark in San Antonio that blends Texas heritage with the city’s artistic spirit. The vision for “Grandisimo” features a 200+ foot Ferris wheel as the centerpiece, accompanied by a mini-golf course, carousel, lush greenery, and food venues. Architectural elements draw from the Alamo’s iconic arches, reimagined in a simplified style to honor the structure without direct imitation. The design also incorporates San Antonio’s renowned colorful public art , adding vibrancy and local character throughout the two-level site, which features shaded walkways below and lively entertainment spaces above.
As Lead Designer, I guided the pre-design and schematic design phases, establishing a cohesive layout that captures both the grandeur of Texas and the rich cultural energy of downtown San Antonio.
