Dear Emmanuel Parents and FamiliesAt Emmanuel College, we take every opportunity to enhance the growth and development of students and we view living on campus as a critical part of their overall experience. The purpose of this letter is to share with you the information that has been provided to your student regarding the housing process for 2013-2014. My hope is that you may assist your student in making important decisions about housing for the coming year. The process of selecting housing for the 2013-2014 academic year will begin shortly after students return from spring break. Students will then have access to Room Selection, a website within our MySaints intranet portal, which will contain all the information relevant to securing housing. Please assist us in directing your son or daughter to this site. By Tuesday, April 2, 2013, students interested in selecting housing for next year must complete an online housing lease and submit a $200 housing deposit which will be applied to their fall semester bill. The online housing lease can be found on the Room Selection site. Please be advised that this lease is valid for the entire academic year; any student who selects or is assigned housing commits for both the fall 2013 and spring 2014 semesters. The accepted forms of housing deposit payment are: 

Check – You may pay using a check in the amount of $200 written to Emmanuel College. Be sure to include your student’s name and Emmanuel ID number on the check. Please give or send your check to your student so that he or she may submit it to the Office of Residence Life and Housing located on the ground level of St. Ann Hall.

Online Credit Card payment – You may submit an online payment with a credit card, debit card, or electronic funds transfer (EFT) by following the payment link on our public website, http://www.emmanuel.edu/Student_Life/Residence_Life_and_Housing/Room_Selection.html, where you can also find information about the room Selection process. Emmanuel accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Your student must submit his or her online housing lease and housing deposit by the April 2, 2013 deadline in order to be considered for housing for the upcoming year. Please also note that in order for students to participate in the room selection process, their student account balance must either be paid in full for the spring 2013 semester or be current on a monthly payment plan. Should your student select a space and then opt to commute, he or she may cancel housing up until Tuesday, April 30, 2013, and receive a 50% refund of the deposit. Students who cancel housing between May 1, 2013, and August 30, 2013, will forfeit the $200 deposit. The Office of Residence Life and Housing will not accept cancellations after August 30. To cancel housing, your student must complete the on-line cancellation request on the Room Selection site. If your student is looking to move off campus next year, please keep in mind that a city of Boston ordinance calls for no more than four unrelated persons to share a dwelling in the city. This ordinance is designed to alleviate overcrowding situations in the community.
