Office of Student Financial Services October 2010 Newsletter Spring Registration

In This Issue Spring Registration

To participate in spring course registration beginning on November 8th, students must be in good financial standing with the College. If you have an outstanding balance for the Fall 2010 semester a financial hold has been placed on your account which will prevent you from participating in registration. Students with financial holds were notified via the Emmanuel Portal, and were sent a letter and tuition bill to their preferred mailing address.

Spring Tuition Refunds Study Abroad & Travel Courses Important Dates

If you currently have an outstanding balance, electronic payments may be made through Online Academic Resources (OAR) via the Emmanuel Portal (portal.emmanuel.edu). Should you have any questions about payment options, please contact our office to avoid any delays with registration.

Spring Tuition After registration, tuition bills will be mailed to registered students and made available through OAR in mid-November. Payment is due no later than Friday, December 17th. Please visit OAR or www.afford.com/emmanuel for payment options.

Looking for a Refund? Students who have a credit balance due to excess financial aid, private loans, tuition remission, overpayment, etc. and who have completed a Refund Request Form will receive a refund check once all funds (e.g. financial aid, loans, etc.) have been received by the College. If you have submitted a Refund Request Form and have not received your refund check, it may be due to the receipt of pending financial aid funds. Although most funds have been received, some funds, such as state grants are generally not disbursed until November. If you have questions about when you can expect to receive your refund, please email financialservices@emmanuel.edu. Note: The Refund Request Form is available through OAR. Refunds for the spring semester will be available beginning in mid-March after the Add/Drop period.

Study Abroad & Travel Courses If you are studying abroad next semester and will be using federal, state, or private loan funding towards your costs, please make sure you have completed all of the required paperwork (e.g. Consortium Agreement) with our office before leaving the country. Also, if you are considering participating in one of the travel courses offered through Emmanuel and have questions about financingfssfsfsffkksjfa options, we encourage you to visit our office.
