1.

Definition of professional hair regrowth reduction So far there is no statutory definition of the widely spread concept of "professional hair regrowth reduction”.

We define the professional hair regrowth reduction as the sustainable change in hair growth over time with a longer-lasting hair-free skin and reduced hair regrowth with less hairs. Professional hair regrowth reduction is achieved by means of a professional/permanent epilation procedure, which changes and/or reduces the basis for growth of the hair follicle in its anagen growth phase over time. Due to the natural hair growth cycles, the regular use of the professional/permanent epilation procedure over time is required, in order to influence the existing, regrowing and new hairs in their anagen growth phase accordingly. The impact or long-term effect of such permanent epilation procedure ultimately depends on the different genetic predisposition and the hormones of the individual person. Therefore, certain statements about the number of necessary treatments or about the period of time during which the hair in the treated area is reduced or removed, cannot be generalized.

Due to the natural hair regrowth cycle it is biologically seen not possible to achieve a 100-percent hair free skin/treatment. Experience shows that over time usually completely new hairs will grow (e.g. from so called dormant follicles), eventually requiring additional post treatments with the professional/permanent epilation procedure. It is thereby understood, that a professional hair regrowth reduction cannot guaranty a specific result of hair free skin – escpecially in the way, that a treated area will be permanently completey free of hairs or that hairs will never grow back!

3.1 The first cycle of treatments with the EpilaDerm®-Hair-Removal-System: Successive and regular EpilaDerm® -Treatments are imperative over a period of 12 to 24 months to possibly treat most of all targeted hair through a complete 1-2 year hair growth cycle.

The required number of treatments depend on the preferences of each individual, regarding when the remaining hair regrowth is acceptable or not.

3.2 Post treatments to maintain the long term reduction of hair regrowth: Additional post treatments with considerably longer intervals between treatments ranging from 8 weeks to 12 weeks or even longer are usually/eventually necessary.

Due to the natural hair regrowth cycle and the fact that the impact or long-term effect of a “permanent epilation procedure” ultimately depends on the different genetic predisposition and the hormones of the individual person, it is biologically seen not possible to achieve a 100-percent hair free skin/treatment. Therefore, certain statements about the number of necessary treatments or about the period of time during which the hair in the treated area is reduced or removed, cannot be generalized.

Not all hair follicles in the skin are active at the same time, and some hair follicles are programmed to be activated for the first time in the following months or years after the EpilaDerm® treatments (so called sleeping / dormant follicles).

Also hair growth can be influenced and induced by hormones, for instance due to pregnancy, age or use of medication, by stress as well as changes in climate and even after a surgery, and can have an impact on the long term effect of the hair regrowth reduction through regeneration of remaining basal cells.

The trained EpilaDerm®-Beautician evaluates at the beginning of treatments and subsequently during the first 6 and eventually 12 treatments the progress in the hair regrowth reduction and determines on an ongoing basis the proper course of action; such as e.g. shortening or prolonging of the intervals between treatments.

Tip: Before beginning the EpilaDerm® treatments it is of great importance to thoroughly inform each customer about the procedure of treatment, the possibilities and limitations of hair growth reduction with EpilaDerm®. In order to produce a qualified first result we recommend committing with the customer to do at least 6 treatments.

EpilaDerm®-EnzymeComplex Two-phase-system consisting of EpilaDerm®-Enzyme Complex (phase 1) & -Accelerator (phase 2).

The cabinet package with 100 ml contains 2 x 50 ml dispenser bottles.

The EpilaDerm®-EnzymeComplex & -Accelerator is used immediately after the root-deep epilation/removal of hairs for enzymatic proteolytic reduction of hair regrowth as well as immediate calming, soothing & hydration of the epilated skin area!

A dermatological-long-term test with the EpilaDerm®-EnzymeComplex was conducted in 2009 with the following conclusions: All test persons demonstrated highest tolerance to the EpilaDerm®-EnzymeComplex without any side-effects! Based on the measured number of regrowing hairs on the test area an average reduction of hair regrowth from 40 % after six months was observed.

5.1 Sugaring – different methods in comparison!

The common term “Sugaring” describes the gentle and root-deep epilation/removal of hairs using a natural based paste-substance consisting of sugar and water (sugar paste).

There are different professional sugaring-techniques* with different requirements to the users know-how as well as different precision in the epilation and quality of the hair removal results:

Strip-Method The epilation/depilation is here done with the classic strip-technique and still primarily against the hairs growth direction!

This method is suitable as an alternative to classic waxing and/or as an intermediate solution on the way to acquiring know-how in using the manual method without strips (e.g. expert-sugaring).

Standard-Method (cooked, brown sugar pastes)

Flat positioned finger ends increase pressure by applying the paste

The epilation is here done manually, usually in the hairs growth direction and typically using more simple-to-use sugaring-handtechniques, which are mainly suitable for sugar pastes with higher inner viscosities.

Due to the applicable sugar pastes high inner resistance/friction, this method can often lead to reduced comfort for the customer as the pastes usually require relatively high pressure, when applied onto the skin.

At the same time this method of application increases the risk of hair breakage by the epilation.

Typically only shorter lengths of sugar paste can be applied

This method can not be used with low-viscosity sugar pastes such as e.g. EpilaDerm®. When such pastes are used with the standard-technique, they tend to get stuck to the skin and lead to increased blood circulation of the skin surface as well as skin irritations.

5. EpilaDerm®-Profi-Sugarpastes Expert-Sugaring (EpilaDerm®) The epilation is here done with the special Expert-Fingertip-Technique exclusively in the hairs growth direction thereby using very soft and more fluid sugar paste consistencies with very low inner viscosity!

In accordance with the EpilaDerm®-Philosophy this assures that the sugar paste by itself – and without using any pressure – sinks deep into the hair follicle opening thereby adhering to the hair relatively deep inside the follicle.

These special properties enables in most cases and by all types of hair an effective and root-deep epilation with reduced sensation of pain for the customer as well as a minimum of hairs braking off inside the hair follicle! Expert-sugaring is widely usable and assures a very precise epilation, ranging from single hairs (e.g. eye brows) to fast and thorough epilation of larger areas (e.g. lower legs)!

5.2 The unique properties of the EpilaDerm®Profi-Sugarpastes: The sugar pastes are available in different consistencies The different consistencies offers a full range of sugar pastes with different inner viscosities and fluid characteristics.

Contemporary Expert-Sugaring with EpilaDerm® is therefore applicable to all types of skin- and hair conditions, facial& body regions, room- and body temperatures*.

The sugar paste is used by normal skin temperature (30 bis 35 °C) Sugar paste therefore does not burn the skin and causes no astringent effect (through heat-shock) on the hair follicle, which otherwise would have a negative impact on the efficiency of the epilation. Sugar paste thus also prevents heat induced redness and increased blood circulation of the skin surface making it suitable in most cases also for problematic skin.

The sugar paste is water soluble The paste is therefore very easy to clean of skin and clothing using only water. It also remains moist and flexible longer making it possible to use it on larger body parts, since it does not dry up and can easily be removed at any time from the skin.

The sugar paste is very safe and hygienic in usage The only ingredients are sugars and water, which are very tolerable natural substances for our skin and body. The high content of sugar functions as a natural preservative assuring the application of a “clean & fresh” product to the skin with reduced risk of skin irritations.

The sugar paste is very gentle to skin and is able to improve skin condition The sugar paste is able to remove dead and dry skin cells similar to a soft skin peeling usually leading to an improvement of the skin condition.

As the paste only adheres to the hair itself and not to the healthy skin, the sensation of pain by the epilation is also typically reduced.

The sugar paste enables the root-deep epilation with a minimum of hairs breaking off inside the hair follicle When applied to the skin the sugar paste sinks/flows - due to its special inner viscosity - by itself into the hair follicle thereby adhering to the hair relatively deep inside the follicle. This special property enables the root deep epilation of very short hairs as well as the epilation of the hairs in their natural direction of growth.

In most cases this leads to an effective and root-deep epilation with reduced sensation of pain for the customer as well as a minimum of hairs braking off inside the hair follicle!

5. EpilaDerm速-Profi-Sugarpastes

Root-deep epilation & reduction of ingrown hairs!

As the hair is here removed in its natural direction of hair growth, the tendency of hair braking off inside the hair follicle is considerably reduced. This usually reduces the tendency of ingrown hairs as well.

Also very short hairs can be removed!

5.3 The EpilaDerm®-Profi-Sugarpastes for manual usage is available in 4 consistencies Profi Strong is the hardest consistency of the EpilaDerm®Sugarpastes: It is suitable for beginners or to increase thickness of a thinner sugar paste. It is also used by very high room temperatures and in cases of higher degree of transpiration (moist and sweat) on the skin area being epilated.

Profi Soft is the middle consistency of the EpilaDerm®-Sugarpastes: It is used by normal room temperatures, by larger body areas and is (pure) also suitable for beginners. When mixed with the Profi Mix the Profi Soft should be the preferred paste to work with (usually after completing Level 4 of the EpilaDerm®-Careerpath)!

Profi-EXPERT is the thinnest consistency of the EpilaDerm®-Sugarpastes: Our specialty for Experts was developed with a special fluid viscosity designed for the manual fast-sugaring-technique at a higher speed and for epilation of very short hairs.

Profi Mix is a Sugarfluid: It is only used to mix with the other sugar pastes to decrease thickness/make them thinner and or to enhance adhesiveness!

The various consistencies of the EpilaDerm®-Sugarpastes (Strong, Soft, Expert and Mix) with different degree of viscosity allows for the individual adjustment of the optimum consistency of the paste according to the specific skin- and hair conditions, body region, room- and body temperatures.

It is always the goal to work with an optimum consistency (not to hard and not to soft), which means the application of the paste onto the skin is pleasant for the customer as well as easily done without using any pressure on the skin and hairs. In addition this enables the sugar paste by itself to sink deep enough into the hair follicle to enable a thorough root-deep removal of the hairs.

Determining and adjusting the optimum consistency is a matter of experience and practice. For this purpose the Profi Mix is primarily used to make either the Profi Strong or Profi Soft sugar paste thinner respectively more fluid.

The experienced user can hereby quickly, gently and thoroughly remove hairs on all body- and facial parts.

Preheating the EpilaDerm®-Sugarpastes: By preheating the sugar pastes to skin temperature of 30°C to max. 35°C the paste obtains its preferred working temperature and is easier to take out of the canister and to work with. This also supports the sugar paste in sinking deeper into the hair follicle and increases the comfort for the customer. Exception is the Profi Mix, which needs no preheating.

5. EpilaDerm®-Profi-Sugarpastes 5.4 Values for the manual usage of the EpilaDerm®-Profi-Sugarpastes With the correct training and level of skill – the manual usage of the EpilaDerm®-Profi-Sugarpastes is very economical! And advanced user will typically be able to obtain a sales volume (value from treatments) which is 10 to 15 times higher than the corresponding purchasing price! 6.

EpilaDerm®-HomeCare - Preparing & supportive skin care for home use EpilaDerm®-HomeCare Enzyme-Peeling For reduction of ingrown hairs and smoothing of skin!

Between the hair removal treatments, the skin should be peeled 1 to 2 times per week. As the EpilaDerm®-Enzyme-Peeling does not induce any scrubbing or mechanical abrasion of the skin surface, it is very gentle in use and therefore also suitable for depilated/epilated as well as sensible skin. The peeling not only leads to a softer skin, it also leaves the surface of the hair follicles free of residues from dead skin cells. This assures an easier passage for the regrowing hairs, thus reducing ingrown hairs. After the peeling it is recommended to apply the EpilaDerm®-HomeCare Inhibitor to the skin area.
