TIMEFORM VIEW Off the mark on handicap debut at Redcar (10f) in May and doubled tally from the front over C&D 3 weeks ago, better than ever when 1/2 length too strong for Dawn of Liberation. Shouldn’t be much between them again.

PROBABLE S.P.’s 13-8 Raulin (IRE), 2-1 Dawn of Liberation (IRE), 9-4 Love Talk (IRE)
THE TIMEFORM VIEW A case can be made for all 3, but RAULIN was 1/2 length too good for Dawn of Liberation off level-weights in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago and from the same terms, he may well come out on top again. If Love Talk’s last run is taken literally, she’s a major threat to the pair
We will be running guided trips to see the start of the third, fifth and seventh races.
If you’d like to see the start of these races, please meet the minibus at the entrance gates to the Picnic Enclosure at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm.
This memorial race is held in memory of a much-missed Dad and is to celebrate the life of Roy Winstanley who loved to attend the races, especially at Pontefract. This was his favourite course.
Roy loved the racing, he loved to have a flutter and his knowledge of horse racing was incredible. He loved visiting “Ponte” races, especially the OAP days. He loved the atmosphere, he even enjoyed the time everyone got soaking wet through, sat in his poncho. He always had a few “wins” and this was his lucky racecourse.
Roy developed Encephalitis in July 2023; this condition is an uncommon but serious condition which affects the brain. It is life threatening, and anyone can be affected. It is not always clear what causes encephalitis. The Encephalitis Organisation offers information to raise awareness and provide support.
Dad sadly passed away on the 6th of August 2023 aged 74 years young. The race today is in his honour and for us to say thank you for all you did.
This race is run in his memory, rest in peace Dad, and enjoy your day!

THE TIMEFORM VIEW The widest stall complicates things slightly, but should LADY WINGALONG break well, David Evans’ 6-y-o will prove tough to peg back having notched victory number 3 of the season at Newbury earlier in the month. Her main danger may emerge from Carlton And Co, who opened her account for the campaign at Redcar recently and remains well treated on old form.
