Welcome to Nottingham Racecourse. A very warm welcome to Nottingham for our Nottinghamshire Oaks Day, one of the highlights of the season at Colwick Park. The British EBF Supporting Racing To School Nottinghamshire Oaks Stakes is a valuable Listed race for fillies and mares, which is run over a distance of one mile and two furlongs, much like the Classic at Epsom Downs. It has been won in the past by some very high-class horses, including subsequent Group One winner Timepiece and subsequent Group Two winner Secret Gesture. We also have the valuable British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap, which has been very well supported by some of the country's leading trainers. The Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Novice Stakes provides an opportunity to see some exciting young horses in the early stages of their careers. We are extremely grateful to the European Breeders' Fund for its generous sponsorship of two of today's race and its on-going support of British horseracing. As well as the excellent racing, we hope you will make the most of Nottingham’s many bars, food outlets and restaurants in this relaxed and friendly setting.
