SATURDAY 6TH MAY 2023
Official Racecard: £3.50
On behalf of my brothers and fellow directors of QIPCO, I am extremely proud to welcome you to another outstanding QIPCO Guineas Festival at Newmarket.
As you will know, my brothers and I share a passion for British horse racing and its rich history. We founded Qatar Racing in 2012 and base our extensive racing and breeding operations at Tweenhills in Gloucestershire. We began sponsorship of the QIPCO British Champions Series in 2011 and delight in the continued success of the worldrenowned and ground-breaking series, which commences with the QIPCO Guineas Festival this weekend and concludes on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot in October.
This weekend we also celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King Charles III Horse racing has enjoyed a special relationship with the Royal Family for over 350 years from the sport’s founding patron, King Charles ll through to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Now we wish His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen the greatest success as they take up the baton with their own racehorses including Saga, who runs here at Newmarket this Coronation weekend.
We truly recognise that young racegoers are the future of our sport and are proud to have launched ‘Club 26’ in conjunction with QIPCO
British Champions Series. Our aim is to bring 18 to 26-year-olds closer to the action on the finest 26 days of flat racing in Britain and to enthuse and educate them about this wonderful sport of Kings
The QIPCO British Champions Series Hall of Fame was launched in 2021, marking the 10th anniversary of our sponsorship. Earlier this week legendary ten-time Champion trainer Sir Michael Stoute was inducted along with Sea The Stars, the superstar winner of the 2000 Guineas in 2009. Two further Hall of Fame additions will be announced later this year
We know first-hand how special memories are made at the QIPCO Guineas Festival as our own Kameko became the fastest ever winner of the QIPCO 2000 Guineas in 2020 Kameko now stands alongside our other Qatar Racing stallions at Tweenhills, and we cannot wait for his first runners to hit the track next year. We wish connections similar good fortunes throughout the 2023 QIPCO British Champions Series and look forward to celebrating another sensational season of magnificent sport with you all.
HH Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani Chief Executive Officer QIPCO HoldingA warm welcome to Newmarket Racecourse and to QIPCO 2000 Guineas Day, where we are also celebrating the coronation of King Charles III. Both His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort are huge supporters of the horse racing industry, and we wish them all the best on a special day for the whole country.
Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank both QIPCO and British Champions Series for their support across the three days of the QIPCO Guineas Festival here at the Rowley Mile. We are also extremely grateful to Howden, who have joined us as a sponsor across both today and tomorrow’s card.
The feature race today is the QIPCO 2000 Guineas, the first Classic of the British turf season. The Group 1 was first run in April 1809, and was named according to its’ original prize fund. Since the race’s inception, some of the true greats of flat racing have made their way onto the roll of honour, including Nijinsky, Brigadier Gerard and Dancing Brave, whilst more recently Frankel and Kameko are some of the leading names to have taken the honours.
For those wanting to enjoy the Coronation of King Charles III, please head down to one of our Coronation Zones, either on the Hyperion Lawn or in the Garden Enclosure. There are plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy, whilst we encourage racegoers to make their way to the parade ring prior to racing for a very special performance of the National Anthem. We also encourage racegoers to join us on the Hyperion Lawn after racing, where there will be a set from DJ Cumminz to finish your day.
Looking ahead, we have another fantastic day of racing tomorrow, where the fillies will take centre stage in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas. Tickets for tomorrow will be available on the gate for all those interested.
Across the season, we would like to thank the European Breeders Fund for their contributions to prize money and Al Basti Equiworld for their continued sponsorship of our Owners and Trainers facility. I hope that you all have a wonderful time here at Newmarket and wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck.
Warm wishes,

Having been gelded prior to his winter break, TEUMESSIAS FOX bounced back to form in style when running out a bloodless winner at Kempton The son of Lope De Vega is now 10lb higher back on the grass, but he remains open to further improvement and that rise could underestimate him Crystal Delight has been knocking on the door on the all-weather and he’s respected, along with Vaynor, who returns to the fray in search of his hat-trick. Moktasaab might not be far away either.
GALE FORCE MAYA (fourth) was giving Azure Blue (winner) 4lb when the pair met over C&D in October, but it would be no surprise were Michael Dods’ charge, who was progressive last season, to reverse that form on revised terms. Makarova outran her odds to finish second in that same contest and she merits respect, despite having a bit to find once again Irishraider Spring Feeling was last seen finishing a good third at Group level and the unexposed filly could rate higher yet.
In a wide-open contest, only a tentative vote can go to BLACKROD The son of Mayson was well in command when winning this from a 2lb lower mark last year, and he might be able to repeat the feat following a recent pipeopener at Kempton Tanmawwy defied market weakness only to be narrowly denied at Newbury on his return to action. He is 2lb well-in and merits respect, as do Probe, Chairmanoftheboard, Lethal Levi and Popmaster.
Sagasportsfirst-timecheekpiecesbackoffabreakandthenow-geldedsonofInvincibleSpiritshouldnotbeunderestimated. However, TURNTABLE landed a double when scoring over 1m2f at this track in October and is fancied to make a winning return to action for his new trainer, even though he is rated 5lb higher Jimi Hendrix has to shoulder a 5lb penalty following a facile victory in the Spring Cup at Newbury, while Dutch Decoy is interesting stepping up slightly in trip.
An impressive winner of a Group 3 at Dundalk back in October, Irish challenger Manaccan has to be considered a leading candidate. Even so, it could be worth siding with VADREAM, who bounced back in emphatic style when landing the Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster and then finished a fair sixth on All-Weather Championships Finals Day. C&D winner Twilight Calls was last seen chasing home Australian sensation Nature Strip in the King’s Stand and is another to consider.
A gripping renewal of the 2000 Guineas, with several eyecatching contenders lining up, including Little Big Bear, who bolted up in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh when last seen His stablemate AUGUSTE RODIN is narrowly preferred, though, with the son of Deep Impact looking a potential star when registering a striking success in the Vertem Futurity at Doncaster, and connections could harbour Triple Crown ambitions Things didn’t go to plan in the Greenham for Chaldean, but he was impressive in the Dewhurst here.
SHAQUILLE has made quite the start to his fledgling career and the form of his most recent success at Wolverhampton looks even stronger than it did at the time. The booking of James Doyle is another plus and he gets the vote ahead of the unexposed Buccabay and Expert Agent, who is three from three on the all-weather since being gelded. Eminency was unlucky when not getting the clearest of runs at Kempton last month and he must also enter calculations.
Marginal preference is for CHARTWELL HOUSE, who ran an excellent race on his return over C&D last month when staying on for third behind a couple of upwardly-mobile colts. An unchanged mark of 82 still looks feasible and he is preferred to Yacowlef, a solid second over 6f at the Craven meeting here, and Striking Star, who is bred to be much better than this level. Completing the shortlist are the likes of Choisya, Divine Libra and Verdansk

A tricky start to proceedings but CRYSTAL DELIGHT wasn’t seen to best effect when finishing runner-up at Lingfield 11 weeks ago, so William Jarvis’ unexposed 4-y-o gets the verdict to double his tally at the expense ofTeumessias Fox, who couldn’t have been much more impressive when making a winning reappearance at Kempton a couple of months ago. Vaynor and Capital Theory can fight out third spot.

We kicked things off here at Newmarket with the three-day bet365 Craven Meeting, a midweek bonanza with a habit for producing Classic clues. The meeting’s Craven Stakes and the Nell Gwyn Stakes gave the chance for colts and fillies with Guineas aspirations to test their mettle on the Rowley Mile in advance of this weekend’s QIPCO Guineas Festival
The proof is in the pudding, with last year’s Nell Gwyn winner Cachet following up in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas for George Boughey, while each the last two Craven winners Native Trail (2022) and Master Of The Seas (2021) both went on to finish second in the following month’s
We kick off May with another three-day meeting, the QIPCO Guineas Festival, which brings us the first two Classics of the season, with the 2000 Guineas for the colts and the 1000 Guineas for the fillies It’s been a vintage era for the Classics and hopefully we unearth a horse to follow in the footsteps of Sea The Stars (2009), Frankel (2011), Minding (2016) and Love (2020).
The highlight of the summer is the Boodles July Festival, where we’re never short of a story or two. However, all of the focus this year will inevitably be on the legendary Frankie Dettori, who’s in his final year of riding The July Cup is the last British Group One missing from his CV and there will be some reception for racing’s most popular figure if he can finally pull it off.
It would be rude to just focus on one race, though, as the July Festival is chock-full of top-class racing across the three days Both the Group Two July Stakes and the Group One Falmouth Stakes regularly feature quality fields, while the bet365 Bunbury Cup is a hugely popular (and competitive) curtain-raiser for the big one.
Attention turns to the bet365 Cambridgeshire meeting as we head into the autumn, as we host our hugely popular three-day meeting. This meeting encapsulates the here and now as well as looking to the future, with the ultra-competitive handicap complimented by some top two-year-old contests. Held on a blockbuster Saturday afternoon of this meeting are the Group One Middle Park Stakes for the colts and the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes for the fillies Run over six furlongs, both races are seen as early pointers for the following year’s Guineas
Continuing the theme of looking forward is the Dubai Future Champions Festival, on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th October. The clue is very much in the name, but this weekend is where future stars are born and is headlined by the Group One Darley Dewhurst Stakes One of the most prestigious two-year-old races in Europe, this race boasts one of the most impressive roll of honours around and hopefully the next Classic winner is just around the corner.

The QIPCO 2000 Guineas, which was founded in 1809 and has a glittering roll of honour, celebrates its 215th running in 2023 It is the first race in the 2023 QIPCO British Champions Series and has a prize fund of £500,000
Along with the QIPCO 1000 Guineas, also over Newmarket’s Rowley Mile, the 2000 Guineas is one of the five English Classics, all restricted to three-year-olds - the others being the Betfred Derby and Betfred Oaks, both over a mile and a half at Epsom Downs in early June, and the extended 14-furlong St Leger, which takes place at Doncaster in September.
Sir Charles Bunbury, who played an important role in the development of British racing, including overseeing the extension of The Jockey Club’s authority, was inspired to introduce the two youngest Classics - the 2000 Guineas for colts and fillies and the 1000 Guineas for fillies only The name derived quite literally from the initial prize fund for the race – 2,000 Guineas was in effect a guaranteed sweepstake, irrespective of the number of subscribers.
The inaugural running was won by Wizard, who gained £1,522 for his connections, in the silks of Yorkshire sportsman Christopher Wilson. Bill Clift steered Wizard to that success and, five years later, completed a famous double for the same owner when partnering Charlotte to take the first running of the 1000 Guineas Both were trained by Tom Perren
The British EBF will allocate £2 million to prize money in 2023, thanks to the contributions of our British

Michael Dods looks to hold a strong hand here and his upwardly-mobile filly AZURE BLUE is fancied to resume where she left off last autumn and capture another C&D listed success. Fellow C&D scorer Gale Force Maya is more exposed but goes well fresh and she rates the chief threat to her stablemate, although George Boughey’s duo Perdika and Queen Olly need considering too along with Irish-challenger Spring Feeling.

30 YEARS AGO (1993)
“This is very good horse!” extols Channel 4 Racing commentator Graham Goode as Zafonic cruises to a three and a half-length victory in course-record time. It is a first 2000 Guineas victory for master French trainer Andre Fabre and a third for owner Khalid Abdullah and jockey Pat Eddery.

It isn’t always clear which side of the draw will be preferable at Newmarket, but it’s worth taking a chance on the high numbers here to fill the frame. Admiral D, Probe and Blackrod are all drawn high and all have a cracking chance, so a chance is taken on a combination trifecta, meaning they must fill the first three places in any order

Thursday 20th April
Indestructible left his mark on the Craven Stakes here last month, winning by a length-and-a-quarter. He then led again one furlong from the finish before he kept on well to take the honours. That was his second victory in five starts and is now set for his second run of the season.

MANACCAN enjoyed a tremendous 2022 and looks a sprinter going places, one who could make the breakthrough at the highest level this year He can make a successful return from stall 1 under Frankie Dettori. It looks a red-hot renewal of the Palace House and good cases can be made for plenty of others, Twilight Calls and Equality chief amongst them.

Twighlight Calls is the class act in the race and should be too good for this field. He goes well fresh, has twice won after a layoff and is a course winner However, Manaccan was a revelation last year, improving markedly with each run. A Reverse Exacta on the two of them should provide some cover if the latter’s improvement continues!

The Coronation of King Charles III today gives us the chance to celebrate the Royal successes of the past in the opening two Classics of the season on the Rowley Mile – the QIPCO 2000 Guineas and QIPCO 1000 Guineas
His Majesty’s late mother, Queen Elizabeth II owned the 1958 2000 Guineas winner, Pall Mall. The second of her late Majesty’s five Classic winners, Pall Mall was trained in Newmarket by Cecil Boyd-Rochfort and partnered to victory by Doug Smith.
There was also success for Queen Elizabeth II in the 1000 Guineas courtesy of Highclere in 1974 Highclere went on to further Classic in France, taking the Prix de Diane (French Oaks) and she also become an important broodmare with the likes of 1989 2000 Guineas and Derby winner Nashwan plus Japanese superstar Deep Impact among her descendants
Further back in time His Majesty’s great-great grandfather King Edward VII owned a pair of 2000 Guineas winners in Diamond Jubilee (when he was the Prince of Wales) in 1900 and Minoru, successful in 1909. Diamond Jubilee went on to take the Derby and St Leger to gain the Triple Crown while Minoru also won the Derby.
King Charles III’s grandfather, King George VI, saw both Hypernicum (1946) and Sun Chariot (1942) carry his colours to victory in the 1000 Guineas. His great-grandfather King George V was victorious in the fillies’ Classic with Scuttle in 1928 and, way back in 1896, Thais triumphed for the Prince of Wales (later to become King Edward VII)
While The King & Queen Consort may not be represented in either of this weekend’s Classics, there is a chance of a Coronation Day Royal winner with Saga lining up in the Howden Suffolk Stakes (3.35pm) this afternoon
Aidan O’Brien believes he may have a Triple Crown contender on his hands in Auguste Rodin but admits this Saturday’s (May 6th) QIPCO 2000 Guineas “is not ever a race you take for granted”
With 10 victories in the one mile 2000 Guineas to his name, no trainer has won the first Classic of the season more times than O’Brien and he is set to be double-handed with Auguste Rodin and Little Big Bear both lining up in what is also the opening contest in the 2023 QIPCO British Champions Series
The pair are both already Group One winners, with Auguste Rodin having taken the Futurity Stakes at Doncaster and Little Big Bear the winner of the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.
For all his extraordinary achievements, one thing O’Brien has not done is saddle a winner of the English Triple Crown – a horse to win the QIPCO 2000 Guineas, Betfred Derby at Epsom Downs and St Leger at Doncaster
There have been 12 winners of the Triple Crown but none since Nijinsky in 1970, trained at O’Brien’s Ballydoyle stables by his predecessor – the unrelated Vincent O’Brien.
O’Brien did train the most recent horse to attempt the Triple Crown, Camelot in 2012, who won at Newmarket and Epsom Downs before finishing second in the St Leger.
Speaking during a press conference hosted on Zoom by British Champions Series today, O’Brien said: “If we had a horse that could go for the Triple Crown this year, he was going to be it and we didn’t want to take away the chance from him if he was going to try it
“The Guineas is a great race and there is only one Guineas We are going to learn a lot about him but if it goes well the plan has always been to go to The Derby next and if that goes well – let’s see what the lads want to do
“It’s a very hard thing to do and some time it would be great to do it – if you don’t try, it won’t happen You need class to give them the stamina and the speed that they need He fits into that bracket at the moment and while it’s a dream, if you have a horse with a chance we don’t want to take that chance away from them. “HeisbyDeepImpactandtheystaywellandoutofoneofthebestGalileomaresweeverhad(Rhododendron). He’s already a collector’s item being one of the last horses sired by Deep Impact – I think there are only five or six in his generation and it was a great call by the boss to send her over to him Then to have all the attributes he has shown us is a very rare thing.
“Although the breeding is different, he shares a lot of similarities with Camelot in that they both have the class that gives them the combination of speed and stamina This horse always exuded class from the first time he worked. He has a long stride and is very relaxed. He is a very slick horse with a slick body – unusual really.”
O’Brien insists that this year’s 2000 Guineas is set to be extremely competitive and that to win it he will need a horse with a turn of pace who also boasts stamina.
He explained: “The Guineas are very important prestigious races They always have been and are the first test of the Classic generation The mile is where the real quality horses are – you kind of need a sprinter
“IF WE HAD A HORSE THAT COULD GO FOR THE TRIPLE CROWN THIS YEAR, HE WAS GOING TO BE IT” – AIDAN O’BRIEN HEAPS PRAISE
that stays and on the other hand it can be won by a horse that leads on to The Derby afterwards They are seriously important races.
“The 2000 Guineas looks competitive this year but it always is and is not ever a race you take for granted or any horse in it You have a handle on horses that have run in trials but it’s first time out for many of them and we just don’t know.”
Asked how he decides who will ride his contenders in the big races, O’Brien replied: “We leave Ryan (Moore, jockey) to make up his own mind as late as possible.
“We never put him under any pressure and when he decides what he is going to ride then usually the rest falls into place. We think at the moment that it will be Auguste Rodin but Ryan will want to see the race, draw and everything else so we just have to wait until then
“We are lucky that both horses came through the winter well and have taken their training well in the spring It was possible that they were both going to run even though they have different profiles. They will probably go their separate ways afterwards with Auguste Rodin going up in trip and I would imagine Saturday will tell us a lot about Little Big Bear – whether we stay at a mile or go back in trip It’s going to be very informative for us and everyone
“We were a little bit worried about going Auguste Rodin at Doncaster on that ground as it got very soft and he is a beautiful-moving horse and definitely not a soft ground horse. That’s why we were so delighted with the way he won.
“We don’t know if a mile will be too short for him on Saturday but we are very happy with what he has done and what he is doing at the moment He is a horse with loads of class and we are going to learn a lot about him and he is going to learn a lot.
“He has always showed a lot of class in his work from the start – Ryan loved him when he sat on him as two year old in February/March last year He was already showing loads then which is a hugely good sign.”
On Little Big Bear, O’Brien added: “Little Big Bear is by No Nay Never who is a big influence for speed. There is stamina on his dam’s side but No Nay Never is definitely a big influence for speed and he is a big, powerful horse.
“He is a horse that has won over five and six furlongs including the Windsor Castle over five furlongs at Royal Ascot and we know what kind of precociousness that takes. He then looked like he would get six and when he won the Phoenix Stakes he looked like he would get seven standing on his ear.
“We are going to learn a lot on Saturday as he hasn’t run in a long time but he’s been doing everything right really. When he had a setback we didn’t have any choice but to give him time. He got over it by the end of the season and didn’t miss any time over the winter and spring which is a big help. He’s a very laidback horse and only uses the petrol he needs to, so his temperament is a big advantage.”
MeanwhileBreeders’CupJuvenileFillies’TurfheroineMeditateislikelytobethesoleBallydoylerepresentative in Sunday’s QIPCO 1000 Guineas and O’Brien added: “We weren’t sure going to America whether she would stay and it was going round a bend but we took our chance and she won very easily.
“We rode her very forward on very soft ground at the Curragh in the Moyglare and Dermot’s filly (Tahiyra, who is also engaged in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas) came and got her It was up in trip going to America but Ryan relaxed her and she came home very well.
“It’s going to be interesting as obviously America and Newmarket are very different but again we are going to learn a lot about her. She is a very lazy worker at home and only shows you what she has to – unless you stoke her up, she stays in second gear But we are very happy with her work
“We felt we might have rushed her a bit last year in the Cheveley Park after the Moyglare, where we perhaps made a bit too much use of her in the ground so we think we have two legitimate excuses for her But it is her first run of the year and we are going to learn a lot about her
“All the good fillies should be there on Sunday and that’s what we all like to see.”
O’Brien’s record 10 QIPCO 2000 Guineas winners are King of Kings (1998), Rock of Gibraltar (2002), Footstepsinthesand (2005), George Washington (2006), Henrythenavigator (2008), Camelot (2012), Gleneagles (2015), Churchill (2017), Saxon Warrior (2018) and Magna Grecia (2019)
His seven QIPCO 1000 Guineas winners are Virginia Waters (2005), Homecoming Queen (2012), Minding (2016), Winter (2017), Hermosa (2019), Love (2020) and Mother Earth (2021)
The dozen Triple Crown winners are West Australian (1853), Gladiateur (1865), Lord Lyon (1866), Ormonde (1886), Common (1891), Isinglass (1893), Galtee More (1897), Flying Fox (1899), Diamond Jubilee (1900), Rock Sand (1903), Bahram (1935) and Nijinsky (1970) Pommern (1915), Gay Crusader (1917) and Gainsborough (1918) also all won the 2000 Guineas, Derby and St Leger when the Classics were all run at Newmarket in World War I.

RACE DESCRIPTION: The first of the Classic races that highlight the season, this one mile race for three-year-olds is also a Group 1 contest; the highest level of racing Group 1 races attract the very best horses from Britain and Ireland, occasionally from as far away as France, Australia, South Africa or the USA due to the prestige of these historic contests. Victory in a Classic race is the ultimate pinnacle for owners, trainers and jockeys and those horses that are capable of racing competitively at this level often go on to have lucrative careers at stud.

“They were strikingly similar. Lot of strength to them with good walks and they look nice tempered horses.
Good people bought them, there was plenty of judges going around the sales saying they liked the Kameko’s.”
Joe Foley, Ballyhane Stud
“I absolutely loved the Kameko’s and ended up buying four!
The colt out of Golden Spell was a standout at the sale and they have all wintered well with good attitudes.”
Michael Fitzpatrick, Kilminfoyle Stud
“What particularly appealed to us was how consistently Kameko stamped his stock with his physique and athleticism. We bid on a few and were delighted to get the colt out of Beach Belle who is a very good mover.”

AUGUSTE RODIN did everything right at 2 and can become the fourth horse (and third from his yard) since 2018 to complete the Futurity/2000 Guineas double. His stablemate Little Big Bear is bred to stay 1m and would be a major threat if reproducing anything close to his Phoenix Stakes form. Chaldean suffered an unfortunate experience on his reappearance but his juvenile form stacks up well and he can prove best ofthe home team ahead of Sakheer, who is already smart but isn’t certain to stay 1m.

International punters are likely to latch onto the Coolmore favourites here, so it seems wise to take them on. Although they are both exciting prospects, this trip might not be quite right for either of them. Royal Scotsman is the one to take them on with. Physically, he is a monster, and has continued to grow over the winter. An exacta with the selection to beat Auguste Rodin should offer exceptional value.
BETTYPE: Exacta. SELECTIONS: 1st Royal Scotsman, 2nd Auguste Rodin.

Plenty with chances but EMINENCY looked extremely unlucky not to win on his reappearance at Kempton 17 days ago and is worth backing to make amends. Expert Agent has done nothing but improve since undergoing a gelding operation and there’s no reason why he can’t transfer his all-weather form to turf Ferrous shaped better than the bare result on his C&D handicap debut and completes the shortlist.

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
In addition to the titles, prestige, and prize money, the 2023 classic winning owners will also receive a photography commission of their winning horse from renowned portrait photographer Tom Shaw. Shaw, who has photographed some of the world’s biggest sports stars, photographs horses in the style of legendary equine artist George Stubbs. The idea was born during a late summer drive in the Cotswolds where the evening sun gently raked across the idyllic countryside, mirroring the backdrops that Stubbs often used in his paintings.
