On behalf of my brothers and fellow directors of QIPCO, I am extremely proud to welcome you to another outstanding QIPCO Guineas Festival at Newmarket.

As you will know, my brothers and I share a passion for British horse racing and its rich history. We founded Qatar Racing in 2012 and base our extensive racing and breeding operations at Tweenhills in Gloucestershire. We began sponsorship of the QIPCO British Champions Series in 2011 and delight in the continued success of the worldrenowned and ground-breaking series, which commences with the QIPCO Guineas Festival this weekend and concludes on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot in October.

This weekend we also celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King Charles III Horse racing has enjoyed a special relationship with the Royal Family for over 350 years from the sport’s founding patron, King Charles ll through to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Now we wish His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort the greatest success as they take up the baton with their own racehorses including Saga, who runs here at Newmarket this Coronation weekend

We truly recognise that young racegoers are the future of our sport and are proud to have launched ‘Club 26’ in conjunction with QIPCO

British Champions Series. Our aim is to bring 18 to 26-year-olds closer to the action on the finest 26 days of flat racing in Britain and to enthuse and educate them about this wonderful sport of Kings

The QIPCO British Champions Series Hall of Fame was launched in 2021, marking the 10th anniversary of our sponsorship. Earlier this week legendary ten-time Champion trainer Sir Michael Stoute was inducted along with Sea The Stars, the superstar winner of the 2000 Guineas in 2009. Two further Hall of Fame additions will be announced later this year

We know first-hand how special memories are made at the QIPCO Guineas Festival as our own Kameko became the fastest ever winner of the QIPCO 2000 Guineas in 2020 Kameko now stands alongside our other Qatar Racing stallions at Tweenhills, and we cannot wait for his first runners to hit the track next year. We wish connections similar good fortunes throughout the 2023 QIPCO British Champions Series and look forward to celebrating another sensational season of magnificent sport with you all.
