CITY SELECTIONS In an open contest the marginal preference is for LAURENTIA, who is a C&D winner and she has not been beaten far in any of her last four starts. Crazy Spin bounced back to form when filling third place at Southwell last time and she may prove to be the main threat to the selection. Others to note are Essgee Nics, Recuerdame and Disarming.

DECLARED RUNNERS 11 2021: NO CORRESPONDING RACE LAST YEAR Hood worn by No. 6, 11. Blinkers worn by No. 9. Sheepskin Cheek Pieces worn by No. 1, 3. Stewards Note: IVAHUNCH: Following its run on 29/10/2020 it was reported that the horse ran too freely early-on. PIPS TUNE: Following its run on 9/12/2021 it was reported that the horse ran too freely. Probable S.P’s: 10-3 Crazy Spin (GB), 4-1 No Diggity (IRE), 5-1 Laurentia (IRE), 7-1 Recuerdame (USA), 15-2 Disarming (IRE), 12-1 Essgee Nics (IRE), 20-1 Maeve’s Memory (IRE), 28-1 Pips Tune (GB), 66-1 Ethel C (IRE), 80-1 Farewell Kiss (IRE), 100-1 Ivahunch (GB)
PLAY SMARTER None of these are especially convincing but CRAZY SPIN did at least return to form under a change of tactics when third in a 14-runner Southwell handicap last time. She could prove hard to peg back if again setting out to make all back at this course, the scene of her latest success in April. With No Diggity due to run at Kempton on Wednesday, Laurentia and Recuerdame rate the main dangers.
