Katie has only been training from her Galashiels base for six years but has established herself in that short time as a trainer to follow. Her win with Gweedore in the feature race here last Sunday took her total for the year on the Flat to nine winners which equals her career best. She is sure to add many more winners to that number over the coming weeks and runs Ben Asker in the Ayr Racecourse Sunday Market Handicap with that horse making his stable debut today.
Sam enjoyed a career best year in 2021 when he notched 57 winners with trainer Grant Tuer responsible for around half of those. Sam teams up with David Loughnane today and he has two rides – on first time out Beechwood Mick in the Hospitality At Scottish Sun Ladies Night Restricted Novice Stakes and on Augmentarium in the Scottish Sun Ladies Night Handicap.
