Step outside the classroom and join us on an actionpacked adventure in Spain. Your Spanish will skyrocket as you immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Barcelona. Test your teamwork, problem-solving and language skills with a life skills discovery quest and challenge yourself on a high ropes course. When you embrace learning, there’s no limit to life’s possibilities.

DAY 1
ARRIVE IN BARCELONA
Sleep: Hotel
Highlights: Icebreaker and goal setting
Touch down in the vibrant city of Barcelona. Bienvenido a España –welcome to Spain! You’re about to immerse yourself in the language, hone your problem-solving skills and discover more about yourself.
We’ll head to our hotel and get stuck into an icebreaker session – this is your chance to set personal and group goals, discuss expectations and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Barcelona is rich in history, architecture and dazzling scenery. It’s time to get involved.
DAY 2
LANGUAGE IMMERSION & GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP CHALLENGE
Sleep: Hotel
Highlights: Explore La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, global citizenship challenge
Dive into Barcelona’s culture. The Catalan capital is home to some of the most unique buildings you’ll ever lay eyes on.
Get to grips with Gaudi on a guided tour of La Sagrada Familia – an aweinspiring church that’s still unfinished. Take in the towers, intricate exterior and stained glass windows that make this the symbol of Barcelona.
At Park Guell, learn more about Gaudi’s modernist style. Ask your guide about the park’s highlights, like the impressive dragon made from broken tiles.
Explore the Gothic Quarter, then join locals at the lively Mercat de la Boqueria. Practise your Spanish by chatting with the vendors and discover more about their products, ranging from cheese to fruit.
In the evening, tackle a global citizenship challenge. Delve into sustainable tourism, considering

DAY 3
HIGH ROPES ADVENTURE
Sleep: Hotel
Travel: Transfer 45mins to the site, transfer 45mins back to Barcelona
Highlights: High ropes course, personal growth reflection
Ready to leap outside your comfort zone? You’re about to take on an exhilarating high ropes course that will test you both mentally and physically.
When you arrive at the site, listen to a safety briefing and get kitted up. Once you’ve strapped on a harness, you’re ready to soar across platforms, obstacles and bridges in midair. Don’t look down!

LIFE SKILLS DISCOVERY QUEST
Sleep: Hotel
Highlights: Life skills discovery quest, Montjuic cable car, personal growth reflection
You’ll need to bring your A-game as you take on a life skills discovery quest through Barcelona’s urban oasis. In teams, you’ll race through Ciutadella Park, using clues to solve puzzles along the way.
Get set, go! Set off through the park, home to museums, a zoo and the Catalan Parliament. To finish the race, you’ll need to work as a team, think creatively and use the language skills you’ve refined so far.
This is an opportunity to develop your ability to think outside the box, work collaboratively and get immersed in local culture. There are prizes to win!
Celebrate your success with an optional ride on the Montjuic cable car. There are awesome views from the top – cameras at the ready!

DAY 5 TRAVEL
HOME FROM BARCELONA
After the best five days of your life, it’s time to travel home. Cram everything into your suitcase and head to the airport.
Check in, sit back and let it all sink in. You’ve just experienced something incredible. Spain has opened your eyes and taught you so much more than any textbook ever could.

EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES.
Students will be immersed in the language and culture of Spain, developing their ability to communicate beyond barriers, adapt to cultural differences and, in doing so, will build greater awareness of diverse global perspectives.
