DAY 1 ARRIVE IN MUNICH Sleep: Hotel

Touch down at Munich airport, meet your local guides and travel to your accommodation. You’ve made it to Germany – a country of incredible war-torn history and influential thinkers.

Make sure you get some rest after your flight. You’re about to take the road less traveled and experience the places you’ve been dreaming of. Ancient cities, world-famous landmarks and historical events that helped to shape our world – they’re all here, waiting to be explored.

Begin your first full day in Munich with a visit to The Munich Documentation Centre for the History of National Socialism; a museum located on the site of the former headquarters of the Nazi Party. Take a deeper look at the rise of the Nazi movement and the role it played in WWII. Learn about a small resistance movement led by university students at the White Rose Memorial Museum.

They were just one of many groups who gave their lives to fight for freedom.

Strike north to Nuremberg – the city that held the trials of prominent political and military leaders of the Nazi Party. Visit the courtroom where National Socialist leaders were held responsible for their war crimes, creating a turning point in international law.

Third Reich. Discover the sites that were influential in the birth of Nazi ideology and get an introduction to Munich’s dark past.

DAYS 5-7 DISCOVER BERLIN Sleep: Hotel Travel: Transfer 5.5hrs to Berlin

Travel further north to Berlin, a diverse metropolitan city and the capital of Germany. Get acquainted with the city from above as you take in the spectacular views from Germany’s highest building, the TV Tower.

Explore Berlin’s rich culture and history with a guided walking tour. Don’t miss the must-see sites; the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag Building (Germany’s houses of parliament), Under den Linden (Berlin’s most iconic street) and the Jewish Museum and Memorial.

DAYS 8-9 ARCHAEOLOGICAL DISCOVERIES IN POMPEII & HERCULANEUM Sleep: Hotel Travel: Fly 2hrs to Rome, transfer 3hrs to Naples, transfer 1.5hrs to Sorrento

Buongiorno Italy! You’ve touched down in Italy, the land of art, culture and pizza! Meet your guide at the airport, jump on the coach and head straight to Naples, Italy’s third-largest city.

We start our journey into ancient history at the National Archaeological Museum. Here we’ll see exhibits of incredible Greek sculptures, Egyptian artefacts and spectacular finds from Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Continue to Sorrento, this coastal town will be our base for the next two nights – enjoy the sweeping ocean vistas, sprawling piazzas and a charming old town.

Visit the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum that were preserved under several metres of volcanic ash in the Mount Vesuvius eruption.

See exposed remnants of buildings that housed the Gestapo and learn more about the reign of the Third Reich throughout Europe.

As you explore these ancient cities you’ll get a rare snapshot into Roman lifestyle and architecture.

DAYS 10-11 HIKE MT VESUVIUS & SEE THE SITES IN ROME Sleep: Hotel Travel: Transfer 4hrs to Rome

We can’t leave Sorrento without a visit to Mount Vesuvius. Lace up your hiking boots and embark on an epic journey taking you to the crater of this worldfamous active volcano. Learn about the devastating effects of the eruption that dates back to 79AD and take in the extraordinary views from the top of the volcano.

Travel north to Rome. When we arrive we’ll get straight to seeing some of the most iconic sites in the world; the Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps and Piazza Nova to name a few.

Rome is everything you dreamed it to be – sprawling piazza’s, stunning fountains, incredible architecture and history everywhere you look.

Dive even deeper into life in ancient Rome as we explore significant historic landmarks like Circus Maximus, the Arch of Constantine, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum.

DAYS 12-13 EXPLORE THE VATICAN CITY & CATACOMBS Sleep: Hotel

Soak it all up as you experience these influential places that had a part in shaping civilisation as we see it today.

BEAT THE TRAFFIC NO NEED TO NAVIGATE THE CHAOTIC ROADS OF ROME, YOU CAN JUMP ON THE UNDERGROUND METRO JUST LIKE THE LOCALS.

Fuel up with breakfast at the hotel and then head out for a guided tour of Vatican City. Immerse yourself in art history as you marvel at the astounding and famous Renaissance artworks of the Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel. Take your time as you gaze at Michelangelo’s ceiling fresco’s - it’s a once in a lifetime experience!

Travel back in time through an epic cinematic adventure. The Time Elevator experience will transport you through the most iconic moments that shaped the Roman Empire from the Middle Ages, through the Renaissance and Fascist period to the present day.

Our final day in Rome will send a shiver down your spine as we explore underground burial chambers and an ancient Roman altar. The Catacombs of Callixtus and the Ara Pacis will give you new insights into ancient Roman civilisation and a deeper respect for the preservation and restoration of these historical artefacts.
