Race as a team on a life skills discovery quest, hone your strategic thinking with a global citizenship challenge and dig deep on a high ropes course. ARRIVE IN BERLIN

Willkommen in Deutschland – welcome to Germany! Touchdown in Berlin, a diverse metropolitan city and the capital of Germany. Get set to explore its war-torn past, develop problemsolving abilities and discover more about yourself.

Head to your hotel, then get stuck into an icebreaker session. This is your chance to set personal and group goals, discuss expectations and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Rich in history and world-famous sites, modern-day Berlin has cosmopolitan vibes and delicious cuisine. It’s time to get involved.

EXPLORE THE CITY & LIFE SKILLS DISCOVERY QUEST

Highlights: City walking tour and life skills discovery quest

Begin your deep dive into East Berlin with a guided walking tour. As you get familiar with the city’s main sights, like bustling Alexanderplatz and the grand Berlin Cathedral, put your language skills to the test. You’ll quickly see your confidence grow.

Stroll down Unter den Linden, the city’s historic boulevard, pausing at Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You could check out the buzzing cafes in the Friedrichshain and Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhoods or visit the Berlin Wall Memorial to reflect on the city’s divided past. Other highlights include Brandenburg Gate and the Humboldtforum, Berlin’s newest landmark.

Bring your A game for a life skills discovery quest through Tiergarten Park, the city’s green lung. Race around landmarks like the Memorial to the Sinti and Roma, working

DAY 3

HIGH ROPES ADVENTURE & BERLIN’S RICH HISTORY

Travel: Transfer 30mins each way

Highlights: High ropes course, optional sightseeing and global citizenship challenge, personal growth reflection

Ready to leap outside your comfort zone? You’re about to take on an exhilarating high ropes course at one of Germany’s largest adventure parks.

Test your courage as you tackle obstacles and zip lines high up in the treetops. You’ll need to be resilient and work together to overcome challenges and get the most out of the experience.

Back on solid ground, explore more of Berlin’s history. You could start at the world’s longest open-air gallery, East Side Gallery, or learn more about life in a divided city at the Berlin War Memorial. You’ve also got the Checkpoint Charlie Museum and Black Box Cold War exhibit to discover.

Recoup at the hotel, then tackle a global citizenship challenge. Berlin is feeling the impact of climate change.

DAY 4 TRAVEL HOME FROM BERLIN

After the best four days of your life, it’s time to travel home. Cram everything into your bag and head to the airport.

Check in, sit back and let it all sink in. You’ve just experienced something incredible. Berlin has opened your eyes and taught you so much more than any textbook ever could.

You’ve been immersed in Berlin’s history and explored this incredible city. You’ve tackled a global citizenship challenge and developed your teamwork on a life skills discovery quest.

These experiences will shape who you are and put you on the path to becoming a true global citizen. Prepare to return home forever changed.

Consider what you’ve seen of the city already, and what you would do to make the city more environmentally friendly.

As your trip wraps up, reflect on everything you’ve learned in Berlin, and how you’ve grown and developed. It’s been an epic experience, and the memories will stay with you forever.

Students will be immersed in the history, culture and language of Germany, developing their ability to communicate beyond barriers, adapt to cultural differences and, in doing so, will build greater awareness of diverse global perspectives.

By spending time away from home, students will learn to adapt to new and different environments, creating a sense of independence and building confidence to travel further, and for longer, in the future.

Students will complete a life skills discovery quest, collaborating with their peers, and engaging creative problem-solving skills, to achieve their goals.

Through guided activity and reflection, students will explore their emotions together with their peers, building empathy for one another and fostering the skills needed to build strong relationships in the future.

By completing a global citizenship challenge, students will learn to think creatively with consideration of ethics, to propose hypothetical solutions to global challenges.
