EVAN LEE
Evan T. Lee is a songwriter, producer, teacher and MC extraordinaire. With early roots from New Orleans, finding his way to Berklee College of Music in Boston, and planting new roots at OCSA, music has always been a constant source of energy. During his time at Berklee, he was music director of the acapella group, Upper Structure, where he led them to second place in the ICCA Finals. He also received two Best Choreography awards, as well as two Acapella Video Awards for Best Mixed Collegiate Music Video and Best Hip-Hop/R&B Video for his video directing debut, (‘Water Guns’ - Upper Structure). Mr. Lee has gone on to create many songs that have been placed in TV shows such as Bel-Air, All American, ESPN, The Game and more. Whenever he isn't teaching at OCSA, he’s around town hosting multiple events in the LA area! Happy to be your MC for Battle of the Bands again!

SARAH KAUSE
NIGHT 1 JUDGES
Sarah Kause is thrilled to be a judge for this year’s Battle of the Bands! A high school counselor at OCSA for the past five years, Sarah has had the privilege of witnessing some of the most incredible talent to come out of the Popular Music Conservatory. Music has always been a big part of her life—her father played in a band and still strums acoustic guitar to this day, sparking her own lifelong love for music.
Growing up, Sarah developed an eclectic taste in sound, listening to everything from Motown and oldies to soft rock, punk, classic rock, R&B, and more. Her first concert—No Doubt in the 8th grade (not to age herself)—ignited her obsession with ’90s bands and solidified her passion for live music.
Sarah is excited to celebrate the creativity, artistry, and energy of all the performers tonight and can’t wait to be part of this unforgettable event!
JOSH WOOD
As Director of the Creative Writing Conservatory, Josh Wood oversees the curriculum and events for 180 talented young writers, including annual and special performances like the OCSA’s TEDx Talks, the sketch comedy production Unleashed, and the county’s largest youth slam, OC RYSE. His musical idols and interests vary widely, from Lenny Kravitz to John Cage. He is the proud parent of the only student to win both a 1st and 2nd place medal at the same performance for PM’s previous Battle of the Bands: Harper Wood.

and

RICHARD KINSEY
Mr. Kinsey is probably best known for his performances as Inspector Javert in Les Misérables for which he was the recipient of the Joseph Jefferson (Jeff Award) for Best Supporting Actor. In addition, He has performed in a plethora of other plays and musicals as well as feature films and shorts. Mr. Kinsey is a composer and the recipient of the ASCAP Award For Popular Music Composition, and back in the day, played with a number of bands. He is also a published illustrator and painter. At OCSA, he is on the faculty of the El - Erian Acting Conservatory .Mr. Kinsey attended California State University At Fullerton and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He is looking forward to this BOTB event! His website is: www.zencatfish.com

What Are CRT Lenses?
CRT lenses are a safe, non-surgical way to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children. These custom-fitted lenses are worn overnight, gently reshaping the surface of the eye while sleeping. They’ll enjoy clear vision all day without glasses or contacts.

“AS BOTH OCSA PARENTS AND VISION CARE EXPERTS, WE KNOW HOW IMPORTANT YOUR CHILD’S SIGHT IS; ON STAGE, IN CLASS, AND IN LIFE. WE ARE DEDICATED TO HELPING THE YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY SEE CLEARLY”
-
CHERYL ALDERSON, O.D.

LAURA LOPEZ
Laura Lopez was the first nurse to be hired as part of OCSA’s staff in 2017, pioneering the way for nursing staff at both the OCSA and SGV campuses. Starting in the Special Services dept as a one-to-one nurse, she now currently manages the nurse’s office. Before her career path in healthcare, Laura’s background consisted primarily of vocal performance, beginning with vocal lessons at the age of 9 and refining her technique with classical vocal training at the age of 15 through adulthood and musical theatre performance. On any given day you can find Laura at Disneyland enjoying the magic and making memories with her 2 children.
SHARON BROWNE-DAVIS
The ultimate ROCK STAR – Sharon Browne-Davis has been a teacher at OCSA for 20 years. Prior to taking her place in the front of the classroom, Mrs. Browne-Davis was in the front of the tour bus. She has worked as a Roadie for bands like Def Leppard, Van Halen, AC/DC, and Guns and Roses. Her vast knowledge of all things music was honed while she worked backstage doing sound checks for some of the best in the world. Her extensive guitar pick collection has been featured in museums around the world. She is the inspiration for Joan Jett’s “I love Rock and Roll”. Top musicians send her a copy of new lyrics so she can give her input before they are recorded. Her collection of concert t-shirts requires a separate temperature-controlled room in her home.

JON SPREKELMEYER

If you don’t see her on campus, it’s probably because she is working with the Rolling Stones on a new show at the Sphere in Las Vegas – SO EPIC! Mick Jagger asks her for tips on living a long life.
After a career in advanced vinyl listening, and varsity guitar strumming, Mr. Sprek got very involved in many forms of music: grunge, punk, alternative, classic rock, classical and of course the 80’s. Since music as a career was not in his talentless future, he became a teacher so he could critique others and pretend he was very talented by hiding behind his authority.

HELP STUDENTS IN NEED
The Artist Scholar Sponsorship Program supports economically disadvantaged students who attend OCSA. Donations help to fund the arts conservatory portion of their school day and ensure they have access to the full OCSA experience, including yearbooks, technology, school supplies, and more.
PROVIDE GUEST ARTIST EXPERIENCES
