Every year, I am deeply inspired by the collaborative efforts of our school community, as those on stage and behind the scenes come together to make the impossible possible. We provide an unparalleled arts and academic education in a creative, challenging, and nurturing environment to a diverse group of students who are passionate about the arts, preparing them to reach their highest potential.

Established in 1987, the nationally recognized Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) offers a dynamic school culture that enables students to flourish as artists and scholars. The school currently serves a diverse student body of approximately 2,450 students in grades 7-12 from more than 100 cities throughout Southern California.

In addition to offering a challenging college-preparatory academic program that produces high-achieving, motivated scholars, OCSA provides aspiring young artists with the opportunity to refine their skills and flourish in one of 17 arts conservatories. Each year, more than 200 concerts, recitals, staged performances, and exhibitions are presented at a variety of venues in Orange County and throughout the world, providing students with the unique experience of entertaining and inspiring thousands of audience members.

OCSA is a donation-dependent public charter school; no student is offered or denied admission based on financial capacity. The school’s rigorous academic education coupled with advanced arts training has impacted many students, molding generations of creative thinkers, leaders, artists, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

FILM & TELEVISION CONSERVATORY GRADES 9-12

OVERVIEW The Film & Television Conservatory offers students comprehensive training in film and television production, editing, screenwriting, sound design, cinematography, directing, and producing.

Through hands-on curriculum, professionally trained faculty members challenge and mentor students to be their best selves, both artistically and individually. The Film & Television Conservatory is both a pre-collegiate cinematic arts school and an industry-prep program.

Several classes are also dual enrolled for credit at Santa Ana College.

CONSERVATORY LEADERSHIP AARON ORULLIAN Director 714.560.0900 ext. 6879 aaron.orullian@ocsarts.net Mr. Aaron Orullian received his bachelor’s degree in film from Brigham Young University and a teaching credential from California State University, Fullerton. Mr. Orullian worked in development with the Cort/Madden Company at Paramount and as a literary assistant for The Chasin Agency in Hollywood. He has won several prestigious awards for his short fiction and filmmaking projects and was a SURDNA Arts Teacher Fellow in 2007. As an educator-filmmaker, Mr. Orullian enjoys serving as a mentor to his students and helping them become both accomplished artists and honorable individuals.

SAMPLE CURRICULUM Cinematography Directing Documentary Filmmaking Editing Film Production Industry Prep and Internships Screenwriting Sound Design Studio and Live Television Production UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES Film & Television students are provided access to a full working television and green screen studio, a film studio, sound recording and mixing rooms, and digital cinema cameras and professional equipment. Each semester, work is screened at the Cineplex Film Festival at Chapman University, and student work is highlighted at the Back-to-School Film Festival and in a collegiate Senior Showcase. Film & Television students also produce OCSA’s news show, The Art Attack Live, and participate in cross-conservatory collaborations.
