A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
The music of The Beatles is, in many ways, the blueprint for what we now recognize as modern commercial artistry—bold, innovative, and universally resonant. It is this rare combination of iconic influence and timeless appeal that inspired our show, The Long and Winding Road.
Inspired by the enduring legacy of The Beatles, this production explores the qualities that made their work so iconic: innovation, storytelling, and a timeless connection to audiences across generations.Commercial dance shares that same spirit. It lives at the intersection of influence and individuality, constantly evolving while remaining rooted in cultural relevance. Like the Beatles’ music, it is both widely accessible and deeply expressive—capable of bridging styles, eras, and perspectives.
But The Long and Winding Road is not solely a tribute to the Beatles—it is a celebration of the CMD Senior Class of 2026. Their journey through this conservatory has been filled with challenges, growth, discovery, and transformation. Each rehearsal, each performance, each moment of perseverance has shaped who they are as artists and individuals. Their path has not been linear, but it has been meaningful—full of unexpected turns that have led them to this culminating moment.
Tonight, we honor both a cultural legacy and a personal one. This stage becomes a meeting point between the music that changed the world and the dancers who are ready to step into it. As these seniors take their final bow with CMD, we celebrate not just where they have been, but the many roads still ahead.

COMMERCIAL DANCE CONSERVATORY

OVERVIEW
The Commercial Dance Conservatory is specially designed to develop dancers with the technical skills, discipline, and commitment that are necessary for a career in commercial dance or dance-related elds. Students receive instruction in a variety of dance forms from a core faculty of professionals. Guest artists also expose students to current and innovative dance forms, while providing unique opportunities to establish working relationships with internationally renowned choreographers. Through this experience, students develop an appreciation for different genres, styles, and the history of the art form.

Ms. Lauren Lim Jackson is a proud graduate of OCSA’s Commercial Dance Conservatory. She later attended Harvard University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a secondary degree in women, gender, and sexuality studies. A professional commercial dancer, singer, and actor since the age of 6, her credits include Broadway, lm and television, and a wide variety of commercials. Most recently, Ms. Jackson served as the Director of the Musical Theatre Conservatory at OCSA and is completing a master’s degree in arts administration from Southern Utah University.

The Commercial Dance Conservatory offers unique performance and networking opportunities, including hands-on learning from industry professionals and exposure to the ever-evolving world of commercial dance. Artistic growth is encouraged through collaborative projects with other conservatories, showcasing student choreography and storytelling. Students are also provided with opportunities to engage with the community, utilizing their time and talents to create partnerships with local nonpro t organizations.
