THE LABRIOLA INNOVATION COMPLEX A ONE STOP-SHOP FOR INNOVATION
The Labriola Innovation Hub at Colorado School of Mines provides state-of-the-art maker spaces where students move seamlessly among the spaces needed to create, prototype, test and revise innovative engineering projects. It will be a hub for student-led collaborations, student hackeroriented clubs, project-based competition teams and real-world problem solving. The hub is part of the greater Labriola Innovation Complex, which includes the adjacent classroom facility McNeil Hall and large work bays for student projects.
SOLVING PROBLEMS THROUGH INTEGRATED ENGINEERING The Labriola Innovation Complex will cultivate teamwork, innovation and successful engineering outcomes by providing first-year students with an introduction to design thinking and applied learning while encouraging them to design, build and experiment via any modality that interests them throughout their time at Mines.

“If you go to any makerspace around the country and ask individuals using them what makes the space successful, it is almost always community. And it’s the same here at Mines. I love going into makerspaces and seeing someone working on something cool. The Labriola Innovation Complex will be a central place where students can help each other build projects and community.” ~ Sevy Swift ’19, Builder and past president of Mines Maker Society
