A MESSAGE FROM OUR PUBLISHERS

W e Are Jersey Magazine is a subsidiary company birthed out of the parent business entitled Jersey Turn’t Up Entertainment. Having achieved rising success within only two years of business, the owners wanted to create something that would expand their networking repertoire while promoting positive talent both locally and abroad. The idea of creating We Are Jersey Magazine began when co- CEOs, Daniel Banks & Bridget Papino, were featured in the SEPTEMBER 2014 issue of another magazine company. After discussion with the owner of that magazine, as well as experiencing the positive responses that exposure generated towards their entertainment business, they decided to begin a magazine company of their own that would target a new type of entertainment promoting style. We Are Jersey Magazine’s goal is designed to provide exposure, references and resources that will influence all those aspiring to do something positive with the talents they possess. Through the lives of the individuals that are highlighted in the magazine, it is the desire of We Are Jersey Magazine to encourage, uplift and inspire anyone to continue to soar to greater heights and deeper depths with their abilities. While We Are Jersey Magazine primarily focuses on talent within the state of New Jersey, it is open to talent presented from abroad. The single focus is the promotion of positive talent so others can read and possibly experience for themselves the benefits that these talents offer. “We Are Jersey” is a positive platform with great opportunities. are highlighted in the magazine, it is the desire of We Are Jersey Magazine to encourage, uplift and inspire anyone to continue to soar to greater heights and deeper depths with their abilities. ailing from the Garden State, upcoming artist Crisp Linen brings a lyrical variety over some of the dopest beats to hit your speakers. Linen strives to stand out the music scene that is known to be flooded with gun violence, lifestlye perpetration, and false accolades. Crisp Linen's down to earth nature is displayed in his sound giving listeners an audibly raw, vulnerable, and above all,

conversational tracks. With his wordplay and story telling skills he turns his lyrics into real life relatable matters for the audience. Allied by his producer and audio egineer Bō, Crisp Linen shows he is a force to be reckoned with.

Crisp Linen's first offical EP, Conversational Gunpoint, hit all platforms June 7, 2019 and has been buzzing ever since. Crisp Linen's Conversational Gunpoint has 6 songs guarunteed to grab your attention. He throws his spanish injected twist on his EP while recounting progression of stories pertaining to topics such as drug abuse, existential crisis, and the similarities and differences between life and death that aren't often openly discussed. "Too many amazing people have died for hip hop," Linen states. He believes that in the same way Jesus died so that we could live through him, artists should live lives that influence others to continue to revolutionize hip hop as a genre that unifies it's fans rather than destroys it's forefront artists. In these controversial times where more and more artists die everyday and violence in hip hop becomes normalized, the message is crucial. Interested in a different route, Linen has no desire to be played in the clubs, and has never been an artist concerned with the opinions of others. As he pushes his career forward, he proves that he truly is an artist that is to be listened to, and not only heard. 19

LUI

riginally from the slums of Peru, LUI and his family first had to overcome the difficulties of extreme poverty for the chance of a better life. Inspired by music, LUI found an escape for himself. As a child, he recalls being a child performer in his family's music group. “My first music memory is me dancing at the age of 3 to the music my family was playing one day back in Peru. My uncles played different cultural instruments and I would be the performer.”

LUI's family moved to the United States prior to his parents getting divorced. LUI ended up staying with his mother, and moved to Virginia, while his father moved to New Jersey. The importance of education became instilled within him while living with his mother. This aided in feeding his passion for

gratitude, LUI honored her memory by going to college and pursuing a degree in psychology. His love of music remained and he decided to use music to push his life forward. “My mom’s number one goal was for me to come to the US and have a better life. One day in

Reaching listeners all the way to London, The Big Bang Radio Show is homed by Reprezent Radio FM. This Brooklyn girl's sass and wittiness only keeps it spicy for all of her listeners!  Jacina focuses on sharing her passion and thriving to push the culture forward. She's not only a radio personality, but a woman driven to push her community forward as well! Whether it's toy drive, gifting

Just recently our co-host who lives in London sent me a video clip of my voice on the radio. The joy in my voice made me feel complete! Having an outlet in the UK to spread love and shed my light on air has opened up a new perspective for me. To be able to connect with people from miles away is a blessing. Having that connection in the palm of my hands to talk about what I love is what I call living! Growing up, music and radio spoke to me, got me through my toughest moments ... I want to be a part of getting people through their toughest moments. I want to keep people connected! If there is one thing you could change about the culture while on your journey, what would it be? The “doing it for clout”... a lot of times it’s not quality over quantity and I’m about quality. It’s cool to care! It’s ok to be genuine. For people to take it more seriously, and realize we can change the world through music and radio. These are outlets people turn to, they

a publishing deal with Water Music while finding great success in hit singles like, “Too 3” & “Tarzan.” Since signing with Water, OnlyJahmez has produced a substantial body of work and ascended the rap industry ladder, opening shows for mainstream rap stars like Ski Mask The Slump God and Juice WRLD. OnlyJahmez's debut album, “Clayraq,” is slated to be released in 2019 and his single “F*ck Rules” is now streaming on Spotify.

His new release, entitled “F*ck Rules" was inspired by sounds from artists like Chief Keef and XXXTENTACION. OnlyJahmez's innovative vocal style and modern production set him apart from all of the other “SoundCloud Rappers.” “F*ck Rules” is a two-minute, high energy party song that embodies OnlyJahmez's liberated lifestyle. This track commands listeners to break free from the contrived box that society puts everyone in. “F*ck Rules” is an escape from preconceived notions of civilization. As he expresses an opposition towards serving existing structures, OnlyJahmez imagines how all individuals might take the power back to create their own realities. It’s a refreshing thought from a twentyone-year-old who wants to have their own, honest voice in the music industry. “F*ck Rules” is a club banger, designed to pump up the crowd, kick off any pregame, and elevate every

or over 13 years touring and opening up for various acts from Mr. Cheeks, Mobb Deep, Uncle Murda and more, upcoming artist Smarty All Crazy has been making his mark in the music industry. Hip hop street hit "Already" Ft. P.O. and the Union Dj's Dj Pinnacle spread across the scene rapidly since it's release in 2018.  Hailing from the the birthplace of hip hop, the Bronx, Smarty heard his mom play hip hop at home and was exposed to some of the local rappers have success in his neighborhood like Fat Joe.  Smarty moved to Teaneck, Nj as a teen, where he joined rap groups. He began sharpening his rapping skills while also being a local dj for house parties.  Djing helped Smarty create a sound that would get the listener's attention and helped in creating catchy hooks and picking uptempo energetic production.   Throughout the 2000s Smarty began to release mixtapes and perform at many showcases which got him really comfortable with performing and attention in the underground music scene.  Record labels began to reach out but many times would try to get Smarty to change his style or make songs that sounded like what was already out there.  With the help of a song called The Elmo (P.O) Smarty was able to be heard on Hot 97 being played by Angie Martinez, Dj Envy, and Dj Absolute.  Shortly after Smarty joined the Vans Warped 47

Tour and shared the bill with acts like the Gym Class Heroes and new artist at the time Katy Perry. In the 2010s released more mixtapes and singles including the project Smartiac Arrest which really gained great local success in New Jersey.   Around that time Smarty began to think more independently and began to  focus less on getting a record deal and began to put more focus into changing the hip hop scene in the tri-state area.   With a very unorthodox style, Smarty All Crazy brings a new sound and energy to the culture over hard hitting production.  Smarty is also an actor under the name Daryl Watkins and has been training at the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts to perfect his craft.  Acting was always a passion of his and once he began to get good feedback from auditions Smarty was inspired to take it more seriously.  To date Smarty has featured in many stage plays and most recently in the web series "Jersey The Series" which is slated to be added to Netflix in early 2020.  Smarty has started his own independent label All Crazy Ent. which focuses on bringing new creatives to the forefront of the industry.  The record label was started to bring more creative artists together where they can feel free to be themselves and be different without feeling pressured to fit in with the norm.  Smarty works with all types of genres and musical styles which keeps him ahead of the

current sound. Creating a special lane for artists who are not considered the norm or the trend is one of the goals of All Crazy Ent.  The All Crazy brand is also very involved in bringing light to mental illness which Smarty knows a lot about through his mother who dealt with bipolar illness and schizophrenia throughout his childhood.  Smarty has used those experiences to motivate himself and others who may suffer through depression and other forms of mental illness issues.    The new single and video "To Ya City" is currently buzzing online,  in the clubs and is on its way to radio.  Smarty All Crazy plans on being a strong force in the hip hop and acting worlds and will be here for many years to come making a big change to the entertainment game.
