STORY OF M
This portfolio is completing by the five stages of M's life, just as my perspective of architecture, and my perception of the world. When people are first exposed to new things, it is naturally to be attracted by fancy design with edged-technology, forgetting to explore the core of relation between human, culture and environment. As time goes by, we will realize the root of architecture is not only creating a physical shelter, but to offer a chance for people to look deep into their inner world. No matter how is it designed, the destination is to construct a better world, by create space that inspires introspection.

CHILDHOOD
M was bron in a ceramics sculpture producing family in Jingdezhen City, China. Living in a plot with dense and small houses, without company by parents who were workers of Jingdezhen Ceramics Sculpture Fatory, M thought her life boring when she was a child, and the only thing interested her was the sound of ceramics breaking, just as the wish of breaking her ordinary life.
The Slow Glass
Slow glass is a special material from Bob shaw's science fiction: Light of Other Days. The time passing through the glass is measured in years, and what we see through the glass now is the scene of several years ago. While glass transmits light in both directions, recording what is happening now and reproducing it in the future, it increases users' sense of historical participation and emphasizes the essential concept of the design that human behavior constitutes a series of historical events.

Old materials from demolished building and broken potteies are displayed in concretemade buildings, while well-preserved sophisticated ceramics are exhibited in new glass-made buildings, warning people that indifference to culture is also a kind of destruction of culture.
Red brick frameworks face toward kilns and workshops, providing visitors a stage to watch the pottery making progress as well as offering workers a relaxing place.
Visitors can easily notice the conspicuous red bricks frameworks from the main street, which lead them come to the Ruins Exhibition Hall, kiln and workshops.

When it came to moment M chose university, She decided to get out of her hometown without any hesitation.
In university, the Student Center was the place she loved most, since it was more like a Library and Exhibition Center of Dreams. With everyone displaying their dreams and visiting or revising others' dreams, people could easily communicate with a more diverse group, which was called DREAM REALITY.
Since it was the first time that M got rid of traditional aesthetic, she was shocked and then fell in love with it craziliy.

In her Sixties, M finally got tired of prosperous city and the mania of edged-technology. By contrast, she loved natural things and simple people. That's why she chose to live in a Long-Term Rrental Apartment with People In Her Age as well as The Young, to tell the story of herself.
As for M's hometown, Jingdezhen City, she was afraid her acquisitive mindset cultivated by modern society would stain the purity of the peaceful place, where became an unreachabe distance.
