The Concert Band opens the performance with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ rousing Flourish for Glorious John. Peace Dancer by Jodie Blackshaw and the World Premiere of Isaac Duquette’s Journey Through Life complete its portion. The Wind Symphony proudly features Hojun Kim,
graduate trombone performance major and co-winner of the 2021 Wind Symphony Concerto competition in William Goldstein’s Colloquy for Solo Trombone and Symphonic Band and celebrates a World Premiere of master’s composition graduate Christian Lyons' “Sovereign”.
Membership into the Wind Symphony is open to any West Chester University student. An audition is required in October for participation in the Spring semester. The band rehearses two hours a week, meeting once a week in the Fall term and twice a week in the Spring term. Students are asked to conduct a sectional for one
