DANCE RHYTHMS WITH JONATHAN RAGONESE, SAXOPHONE
The unmistakable Latin American rhythms of Oscar Navarro’s Downey Overture set the tone for this program.
The Wind Ensemble will present the world premiere of a concerto for saxophone and wind ensemble by Professor Jonathan Ragonese. Jules Sten’s Danse Funambeleque completes this rhythmically charged performance.
The WCU Wind Ensemble is composed of 45 of the finest wind and percussion players at WCU. As a premier ensemble, the group represents WCU at conventions and performs in high schools throughout the region. Many new works have been commissioned by the Ensemble in recent years.
