EMPOWERING LEARNERS • INSPIRING LIVES • PREPARING HEARTS

MISSION STATEMENT EMPOWERING LEARNERS, INSPIRING LIVES, AND PREPARING HEARTS TO FAITHFULLY SERVE AS AMBASSADORS FOR JESUS CHRIST.

Sixty years ago, a small group of dedicated Christians at Shenandoah Presbyterian Church sensed a calling to start a school characterized by excellence and devoted to a biblical philosophy of education. In the founding charter, they pledged to establish a school and educational program “propounding the highest of academic standards, so as to prepare covenant youth for purposeful

Godliness in any vocation or entrance into leading institutions of higher education.”

On September 6, 1961, Westminster Christian School opened its doors and today, thanks to the vision and dedication of school founder Mr. Jules Vroon and the leadership of many faithful men and women over the years, Westminster is the standard for Christian education in South Florida.

Westminster Christian School is now situated on 31 lush acres and serves 1,280 students from preschool through 12th grade. While so much has changed, Westminster Christian School’s mission remains the same: to provide an excellent education to the children of Christian families.

PRESCHOOL / ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Westminster recognizes that each child has a unique and individual pattern of growth and learning. We offer a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the intellectual, spiritual, social, physical and emotional development of every student. We utilize nationally recognized resources and abide by rigorous standards to provide all children with excellent learning opportunities.

Students participate in art, music and physical education classes, and can select electives in technology, Spanish, robotics, coding and programming. Elementary electives and select after-school clubs also align with high school signature programs, such as Entrepreneurship and Engineering.

All students engage in learning through project-based activities in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). In fourth and fifth grade, students may also apply for the VEX IQ competitive robotics teams. Warrior Robotics has won numerous awards at both the District and State level and has earned World bids every year since its inception. At World competitions, our teams have also received several awards and recognitions

Westminster’s preschool and elementary school boast the WorldWonder program, a hands-on learning experience that promotes the exploration of God’s creation with on-campus field trips to the Nature Center and Wild Acre to experience the wonder of the world around us. Westminster also offers numerous after-school clubs including cheerleading, ballet, drum roll and chapel praise team, as well as an elementary sports program to help students develop their God-given gifts.

Westminster’s elementary school is committed to developing students that serve as ambassadors for Jesus Christ by teaching them to know and love Jesus through daily Bible reading, prayer, devotions, worship and acts of service.

We have had incredible teachers throughout our preschool and elementary school journey. Our educators love these kids like family, which is so comforting when you have little ones. They have actively partnered with us to support our girls’ academic success as well as their spiritual foundation and overall wellbeing. We are forever grateful to be a Warrior family!

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle school is a time of extraordinary growth and change. Westminster offers an excellent learning experience that allows students to embrace their unique talents and interests during this important stage in early adolescent development. Our faculty and staff are dedicated professionals who strive to provide a challenging and engaging academic curriculum from a biblical perspective.

Students are enrolled in five core academic courses (math, science, language arts, social studies and Bible) with opportunities for advanced and accelerated tracks in math and language arts. Additionally, they can select from 35 electives including fine arts, entrepreneurship, foreign language and computer science.

Toward the start of the school year, eighth grade students embark on a spiritual retreat called the GR8 Escape to deepen their relationship with God. Over the course of three days, students engage in reflective activities, group discussions, worship, and prayer sessions to foster spiritual growth and understanding. By the end of the retreat, students emerge with renewed faith and a strengthened sense of community within their class.

Students also participate in numerous field trips, including an educational tour of Washington, D.C., and trips to Zoo Miami and Sea World. Westminster’s middle school offers a wide variety of clubs and honor societies, such as student council, book club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Junior Honor Society, and the reputable after-school competitive robotics team. There are also opportunities to engage in Westminster athletics, with competitive teams in more than 15 sports.

Our daughter’s experience at Westminster has been truly transformative thanks to the loving and supportive community that has allowed her to thrive. The teachers have created a family environment that has encouraged her to grow academically, spiritually, and personally. She has formed lifelong friendships with her classmates while being challenged to reach her full potential. She has also developed a love for learning and has explored her creativity through the Fine Arts programs. We are grateful for the exceptional education and care she has received at Westminster Christian School.

Westminster is home. I attended Westminster from PK3-12th grade and this school continues to be one of the best parts of my life. Playing sports at Westminster was a dream. I had the opportunity to play for the best coaches and teams which taught me lessons that I will carry throughout life. I hope to guide and inspire the generations after me like the people at Westminster have done for me. I have come full circle and am back at Westminster coaching. I am beyond blessed to continue to call Westminster my home.

Westminster Fine Arts played a huge role in shaping me into the person I am today. Theatre and band both taught me important life skills such as communication and teamwork. Not only did I learn valuable lessons, but I also had a lot of fun in these programs. My most memorable times in Fine Arts were the amazing band trips and the oppor tunity to play the role of The Baker in the 2024 production of “Into the Woods.”
