Your DMP – helping tourism business succeed The Visit Winchester and the Heart of Hampshire Destination Marketing Partnership (DMP), is a collaboration between Tourism South East, Winchester City Council, East Hampshire District Council, the South Downs National Park Authority and tourism business in the Winchester and central Hampshire area. It works with you to provide expertise and services that support the performance, growth and competitiveness of businesses in the tourism sector.

On your behalf, we work closely with VisitEngland and VisitBritain to generate media coverage for our member businesses and destinations. Last year TSE’s PR activities generated over £17million worth of international coverage alone. Visit Winchester’s PR consortium ‘Discover Winchester’ netted £1.3m in 2013 – a return on investment of £92 for every £1 that the businesses in the consortium invested. TSE Connect and TapBak provide new cost effective management and promotional tools that make acting on customer feedback simple. Online reviews can make or break a business. Getting instant customer feedback, ideally during their stay or visit, gives your team the opportunity to address complaints quickly and turn around a bad review. TapBak allows your customers to connect with you using the technology they are using. Customers can use their smartphone to give feedback using QR technology while they are on site. Once they have left customers receive a personalised invitation by email with questions to cover all aspects of their stay.

The South Downs Sense of Place toolkit, developed by the South Downs National Park Authority, is packed full of information, inspiration and images which tourism businesses in the National Park can use for free to promote themselves and the South Downs to visitors. The Sense of Place toolkit includes case studies from businesses already using the South Downs to offer visitors their own distinctive experience. The toolkit is available online at uk/sopt.
