Whetū Marewa Helping young people to realise their potential

About Whetū Marewa Whetū Marewa is a Bay of Plenty-based community service that builds confidence, resilience and wellbeing in young people, aged 12-24 years, who are living with mild to moderate mental health and addiction related issues and social stressors.

What we do Our registered health professionals and youth workers work in schools, clinics and other community facilities to: identify high risk young people who would benefit from psychological interventions build awareness of mental health concerns, contributions and early signs of illness provide education and information on mental health and wellbeing for young people

work directly with young people, along with their whānau and peers, to build resilience and increase wellbeing.

We use a range of positive youth development methods to engage young people such as: talking therapies youth coaching and mentoring kaupapa Māori cultural interventions including a focus on positive cultural identity

a range of recreational activities to build skills, confidence and community connections.

A bit more about us Real is the youth branch of Pathways, an organisation with more than 25 years’ experience in delivering mental health and wellbeing services in the community.

We’re all part of the Wise Group, one of the largest non-government providers of mental health and wellbeing services in Aotearoa.
